ikeslayer
i have had numerous people swear by one or the other when rigging a single tailed grub whether it be on a swim jig or even a texas rig ribbon tail, but they never say why? So what is your preference and why? ike
Cecil
That's a tough one! IMO tail up gives you better action, however will up the chances of tail getting caught on hook.
Craigums
Ive always had the tail facing the same way as the hook, don't think i'll ever change either
RK
Hiya - I don't worry about it much Texas rigging. For grubs on a jighead, it depends on what I'm doing with it. If I'm using it as a drop bait, I rig it tail down - gets better action I think and it fouls on the hook less. For swimming horizontally, tail up. Stays more stable, and just works better I think.Cheers,Rob Kimm
Aaron Carrell
What exactly do you mean when you say Tail up? Tail towards the head of the jig? I'm confused....
RK
Hiya - Talking mainly about sickle-tail grubs like Mr Twisters - so the sickle is pointing up above the hook point, or down below the shank...Cheers,Rob Kimm
bemidjibasser
tail down always...just how i've always done it and am too stubborn to change.
EBass
Tail up mostly. To me threading it on straight is more important then tail up or down; that being said, I have threading issues sometimes.
Cooter
Saw an in-fish show and Stange I believe was riggin them tail down to get some wobble on the retrieve. Or was it tail up? Think it was tail down....
river rat316
Tail down, less fouling, and better action on a slow retrieve imho

Neighbor_guy
Tail down, always. Especialy with the swim jig.
Daze Off
Tail down - especially if you are dragging it slowly along on/near the bottom - stirs up debris.
