Barry Bonds

how many pitchers that pitched to him were on roids. Should they void out every at bat that a roided pitcher pitched to him.

If they didnt test for it back then, then no one has a legit gripe. All his records should stand until he fails a test.

I couldn't agree more. You can't negate what he has done on pure speculation. (Gosh, he was small when he was 20, now he is huge! Must be roids.)

many names were given in the mitchell report with a link to roids. as i recall pitchers were included. you can't go back and erase that stuff because too many people were on the juice. bonds won't hold the home run record for very long, unless gaye-rod retires early.

If you want to know how racist he is I can tell you. I heard a story direct from a former Sox player, Ron Kittle, who said he was having a charity auction and he had stopped by the locker room of the Giants with a Jersey and a bat that he wanted Barry Bonds to sign for the auction. When told of the request, Barry's exact words were, "I Don't Sign for White People". Kittle told the locker room manager to go back in and tell Bonds if he did not sign that Kittle was coming in face to face to hear the words direct from Bonds mouth. I guess he eventually signed the stuff but I think that might give you a little insight to the mind of Mr. Bonds. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck I am guessing it is a duck. "I don't sign for white people"

Interesting......

Windy, I have heard that story by Kittle, and I heard Bonds rebuttal that he never said it. I am not saying whos right and whos not, but it was denied. BTW, Jeff Kent used to accuse Bonds of the same thing, he was racist. That is why they didn't get along.

Zamboni,

I know that Ron still tells that story even today when asked about Bonds and the only thing I can think about it is why if he got the jersey and stuff signed and it did not go down like that why would he make up that story. If he was lying then Barry would really be mad and would not sign stuff for him again. What benefit would Kittle get out of making something like that up?

On the other hand, if it is true then Barry would have everything in the world to gain in denying it so my guess is that it happened just as Kittle said. I know Ron personally and I can tell you he is a square shooter. Works with charities of all kinds, has a company that makes furniture out of baseball bats which is really cool and donates the profits to charity. I can not believe that he would make something like this up but I can believe that if it did happen he would not keep quiet about it.

We can let the readers decide.

If you look into Jeff Kent a little bit more, he doesnt get along with ANYONE.

Sled,

You a Bonds fan? Or just keeping an open mind?

I try to keep an open mind, but sometimes looks are not deceiving.

Kudos to him for the accomplishments though....as much as they pitched around the guy and he still had such success is impressive for sure.

Somebody's got to earn the money these primma donnas get...and maybe he's got me fooled, but I am rooting for A-Rod.

Lets keep it civil here now please!

I dont think you can relaly take away what he has done. You still have to hit the ball. But, i do think there going to look at it alot different then how that look at Hanks.

I hope for the history of baseball, that someone will come up and beat the record, so we dont have to always talk about the guy that hit the record was on roids!

I am not even commenting on his alleged roid use or his possible tainted home run record. I was just commenting on the racist comment and I firmly belive he was and still is a huge racist. Geno, you know Ron Kittle and I think you would agree that he is a square shooter. I don't think he would make something like that up. As for Jeff Kent, I don't think he even matters in this discussion.

That being said, I do believe that he used and abused steriods and I do believe that they hugely contributed to his home run total. I have heard the arguement tons of times that you still "have to hit the ball" but my arguement to that is that almost every person who has ever played base ball can "hit the ball" the difference between the home run record and mediocrity could be the steroids in turning warning track fly outs into homers. When you take all those and add it to the homers that would have been no doubters then you get the tainted record.

I would have loved to seen Kittle go in there and face bonds on that comment.

The guy has awesome all around stats and in his prime was a top outfielder, though I never have figured out how he did not throw out Sid Bream at home in the NLCS back when he played for the pirates

Yup,

I think Barry would have had a whole bunch of white on him if Kitty would have gone in. He was a pretty big dude back in the day. He is one of a few players to actually hit a homer out of the old Comiskey Park, it cleared the roof and just kept going. That was before they used to measure the shots.

Regardless of if anyone likes him or not. He didnt do anything against MLB rules then, so you cant punish him for future rules! I personally think he is a low life, and the roids that He DID Take helped him get some of those homers, but you cant break a rule that wasnt there yet! The home run record belongs to Bonds until A-Rod or someone else beats it! Although lieing to the FEDS will land him behind bars, fess up!

The guy was gonna make it to the hall either way, 500 500, only person to do that, and that was way before he got huge and hit 73 homeruns. Most of his life he was doing 30-40 homeruns and 20-40 stolenbases. Then the last 5-6 years he got huge and hit bombs all the time. Did he ever test positive for roids? No, he tested positive for amphetamines which are not banned or werent at the time i dont remember. Everyone says hes a jerk he lied, but there is no proof. You cant take something away cause you dont like a person, Babe Ruth liked hookers and beer why dont we take his record away to. Until they show he did take roids and failed a test you cant and shouldnt do anything to his records.
