It was a great Fall on the Upper Mississippi ....This was one of five 20 inch plus smallmouth we caught this fall...the math on a 20 inch Smallmouth Bass is 20times 20times 20 divided by 1600 which equals 5 lbs but this fat momma had to go over that...Awesome looking fish...

with the mouth closed and tail pinched it was just touched the 22" mark. I wish I had a scale id love to know if it would have beet my PB of 6.97lbs.

very nice bw! & mnfishtrap, i've caught alotta smallies outta the sippi & that's the fattest fish i think i've ever seen. i would say conservatively 5 1/2lbs, very very nice fish. it must be a mill lacs transplant that came down the rum

Fished smallies this week for a day and a half and caught a bunch of BIG ones through the ice! Caught most of them on a #5 jigging rap and the Marcum camera was invaluable! the fish would come from 20 feet away (clean water) once they committed they would spook if you even twitched the rap! had to let it sit and they would swim up and suck it in. caught a tagged fish too!

first bass outing of the year! caught a pretty nice mixed bag of fish, including a couple really nice smallmouth, couple nice spots, and some nice largies. biggest five totaled 16.5 lbs
