Pherris: Sorry for the late reply, but I caught it in Eagan. I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one who's encountered this strange genetic strand of bluegill.

My first rock bass caught out of Lake Vermilion at 9.5 inches long. It fought like a smallie. What made this slab even more special was that, when a CO from the DNR was doing a fishery survey, I let her measure the fish to help her out with her report. It made me feel really special that a panfish I caught could make a difference for the DNR. Later on, I ate it alongside some northern pike fillets. It was delicious!

Buzzed out for a quick trip last night in between the rains. Crappies were biting very well on a simple jig/twister tail in 10-12 feet. Kept a limit of tasty 10"

Hogz are starting on beds up north. We kept a dozen a piece and released a dozen of these 10"ers.

Have been getting out almost once per week since ice out and having pretty decent luck for a metro lake. Started out just after ice out getting them in the shallows to our most recent outing last night when we found them in 18' of water right on the edge of the cabbage weeds. 1/16 oz. Pink Jigs tipped with 2" power minnows.
