I think alot of KC not inking him to a deal right away is the fact everyone is 50/50 on him. What if he is a flop? What if he is a stud? They might sign him after a few games, when they can see what they have.

Updating a previous item, T.J. Houshmandzadeh left Minnesota last night and flew home to Los Angeles.

There goes the Vikes' momentum. Letting Housh get out of town without a contract likely means they are no longer the front-runner to get him signed. The Bengals, Vikes, and Seahawks are the three teams in the derby right now.

He flew home last night. I would say his chances of signing with the Vikes are slim right now. Hope they didn't low-ball him with a contract offer in hopes he would sign with a play-off team. It's all about the money...he has said it from the beginning of FA.

yup they say we offered 2 mill less then the seahawks and a couple years less then the bengals...they want to lock him for 5yrs which means he'd retire a bengal...we are offereing a 3 yr.

if you read tj's notes it says the bengals are the front runner for coles as anticipation of losing tj.

someone should tell him to read that so he gets mad they are trying to replace him before he even made a decision lol

An NFL front office executive tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that the Bengals have "jumped ahead" of Minnesota in the bidding for T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Meanwhile, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that Houshmandzadeh is still expected to pick a team by Monday. Housh and the Vikes haggled in talks all day Sunday, but it seems as though Minnesota's offer came up short.

I agree!! mad Why not spend the money when we are suppose to have all this cap room and possibly make a serious push into a post season?! He might not have been the final piece to the puzzle but it could have only improved the team!!!

We've got the money and the owner isn't scared to spend it. It seems a little hinky to me. I get the feeling we have something big on the back burner. A big trade or something. It seems unrealistic but it's just a feeling I get.

Im thinking I would like Cutler here. The vikes backed off TJ for some reason. It just seems a tad odd that a receiver we wanted, and needed, got signed away when we had plenty enough to make him stay here. Sounds like someone may have something up their sleeve. And im still smelling something from philly. Could be Donovan packin his bags to come play with chilly again!

i'm pretty disappointed that we were chumps and low balled tj...i bet if we would of matched seahawks offer or even went a tad bit over we would of locked him up....he's everything we needed for our stagnent west coast offense...i think adding tj would of put our offense over the hump......L A M E

they better have something big in the works because we had plenty of money and let a top flight wr pass us by because we were stingy....i just can't believe we didn't pick up a new toy for sage or t-awesome....i thought this was a done deal for us.....L A M E
