i'll be watching it forsure just like every game since i was 5 yrs old.

the coaching sure is ugly but a win is a win...even though the bears were gonna lose i wanted longwell to nail that field goal.

hopefully we can pull it together...players and coaches....anything can happen in the playoffs but you gotta make it there to find out.

get healthy fat pat....we need ya!!!

I love the Vikes as much as anybody, but if they want to get anywhere in the playoffs they've gotta knock off the stupid mistakes.

i.e. grabbing the ball and falling into the endzone when the ball is already sitting on the 1 yard line. lol.

The Vikings won against the past Super Bowl Champs. They earned their way into the playoffs. Could they have had fewer mistakes - sure.

Both teams had back-ups in, it's that simple.

DUH BUMS LOST.

The VIKES WON!!!!

We're in the playoffs. smile

Come on Rick... You don't really believe that do you? They barely beat a team that had nothing to gain and truly had their back ups playing a vanilla offense which still gave the Vikings fits. Beating the Super Bowl champs who were playing their scrubs means absolutely nothing, it is that simple. wink

I'm hoping you're just trying to stirthepot.gif because nothing can be taken from that game other than the fact they limped into the playoffs and it will most likely be short lived. If making the playoffs is the ultimate goal for MN fans and teams (all sports included) then congratulations. Hope you make the playoffs again next year. b-day.gif

When are they having the parade for making the playoffs? I'd like to go see how many purple suckers they throw out.....or go to watch.

Applauding and praising mediocrity does nothing but breed more mediocrity. I thought when Tex and Denny left they would bring in some new blood and give this team a REALISTIC chance. They did bring in some critical pieces that they were missing but are still far short of making a REALISTIC playoff run. Although I'd be happy about winning the NFC North for the first time, I'd still be upset at the way they got there and the win today is just prolonging the emotional crash that is going to happen within the next week or two.

The best thing that could have happened is for this team to have failed, and failed miserably, so that they could bring in a coach who may give them a REAL shot at going further into the playoffs and stop stringing along these mediocre QB's as a pet project.

Far short of making a realistic playoff run? lol. Have you watched the NFL lately? I hate to break it to you but any team these days that make the dance has a realistic chance. Would i bet on it? No. But 2 of the last 3 superbowl champs were 6 seeds. Whats funny is we all know what kind of post we would see from you if it was anyone other than the vikings in the same position.

Have YOU watched the NFL lately? There are teams in the NFC that will crush the Vikes when they get the chance. If they get to play the Giants again, you can bet it won't be a last second FG to win the game. Being enthusiastic about one's club is one thing, delusional is another.

LOL, did you really think the steelers would make the superbowl a couple years ago?? Or the giants last year???? There is a reason every team this day and age says "lets just get there". Delusional...lol....what did i say that is delusional? Thats funny....lets not pretend that the only reason you have written this is that its because its the vikings...

any teams that get into the playoffs have the chance to win it all...but you can't win it all if your not in the playoffs.

i agree that we did not beat the real giants...but that doesn't matter because we got the W...we needed the W reguardless who we played or who was out there...there's nothing we could do about them playing back ups.

i think we looked pretty bad though...especially the coaching....i know you can't expect to make it far with games like that.

we can beat anyone with our A game and a little luck....alot of games come down to a little luck even if your a premier team.

Only saw that last 5 minutes in regulation. That part was decent, not sure what was with some of the play calling and letting the clock wind down like that. Then the extra play the ran in for?? Man, yea they're in the playoffs, but no thanks to chillipepper. Bring on the birds and hopefully we show up better than the last couple of weeks or it's one and done.

Bingo! The vikes will get crushed in round one. They almost got beat with the Giant's backups today!

I was at the dome today to watch the game. I didn't agree with some of the play calling but when do I.

Surprised I haven't seen any of the T-Jack bashing going on. It wasn't pretty, but we did manage to get 2 crucial scores after the interception which to me is a sign that T-Jack is starting to mature a little more and not getting rattled as easy.

I'm still disgusted with how easy the defense is getting through our front line to the backfield, especially with the Giants 2nd stringers.

We dodged a bullet with the fumble. Hard to say what went on at the bottom of the pile and not sure I want to know, but lucky for us we got the ball back.

Good job by the defense also holding them to field goals instead of touchdowns. But overall, I don't know that the Giants were in it for the win today. Glad we're in the playoffs. I just don't think that we'll get past the Eagles next weekend.

they played the super bowl champs in the first half. After that, it was the backups.

Ither way, they won and are in the playoffs. I dont think there going to do much for the way they are playing now. they have alot of work to do if they want to go far into the playoffs.

AP needs to hold onto the ball, and TJ has to play way better then today.

Benching him was the absolute best thing that Childress has done as a coach, contrary to a minority on here, I think that the time on the bench settled him down and he had valuable time looking at tape, studying defenses, ect. I think that if we played him all year, we wouldn't have made the playoffs, he was rattled, lacked confidence, ect. Gus saved our season...However he most definately wasn't the fix, just a band aid. I hope that he continues to play well as we need a good QB for a change. Except for that pick in the endzone that almost lost the game and the embarassment of a two minute drill we have, he has played great since his return.

It's also obvious that we miss Phat Pat up front.

Any team can beat any other team if the breaks go thier way.

The Vikings aren't out of this yet. They may not have looked all that good against the Giants second string today but look what the Vikes did to the Giants last year in the middle of the season when both teams had every thing to play for.

I think the Vikes could beat the Eagles. The Eagles may come in a little too sure of themselves the way the Vikes did against Atlanta and the Vikings will come in to the game an underdog with nothing to lose.

This Vikings team reminds me a little of the '87 team that went to the NFC championship game. They were a team with a good defense and an adiquite offense that got hot at the right time. Jerod Allen even reminds me a little bit of Keith Millard.

eagles are tough...i actually like the eagles they always play real tough and westbrook is a machine.

we can beat them just as easy as they can beat us....i think we match up better with the eagles then we would have with dallas...i don't like the T.O., roy, witten, romo, ware, ect, matchups.

jared needs to show up big for us and we have to have pat back...we can force mcnabb to make some dumbs plays under pressure...we gotta put our best guys on westbrook and make the other players beat us...they don't have all that for wr's but they get the job done....we should be able to run and pass pretty decent on them...should be a good game...the coaches sure know each other really well lol...ol chilly might be able to give us an advantage in this one...that would be a miracle.

Someone had to win it, my team didn't want it, the Bears didn't want it and the Lions gave up in August.

I'll root for them as they represent our division, but Im thinking we ALL will be watching the superbowl and rooting for a color other than purple.

I guess congrats are in order for the Queens, though it looks like many of their "fans" have seen it for what it really is. My beloved Bears did not have what it takes to push it over the line so they will be watching the playoffs from their big screens. That being said, I do have to admit a few things: first, the Bears did get hosed on two crucial replay calls, the first being a spot of a ball that was off by nearly two yards which according to some weird rule could not be upheld because the play did not result in a first down. It did, however, put the ball within a half yard of a first down which encouraged the Texans to go for and make the first down. Second, after a ruling on the field of a fumble and Bear recovery, the replay offical overturned the call which was impossible to do since every angle and every replay showed no conclusive evidence to overturn the call, none. I am not saying that the guy was or was not on the ground when the fumble started to occur, just that there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field. Bears got hosed on both those calls. Oh well, they did not deserve the win anyway.

Also, the Bears would have made the playoffs even with the Queens squeeker over the Giants second string and would have played the Queens. Instead, the Queens get to take on the surging Eagles. I think about a quarter into that game the Queens fans will be wishing the Bears had won their game! Just a hunch. We shall wait and see. I think the Eagles will coast in a laugher, by at least 21 points. Let the playoffs begin!

Windy
