I use to be into this show and watch it all the time. Even the reruns. However lately it just doesn't grab my attention anymore. Im trying to figure it out and I think the main thing that is losing my attention is because Phil is no longer a part of the show....

Anyone else having a hard time watching this show?

Agree it was a weak show. Why are the Ramblin' Rose and the Cornelia way up north for blue crab? I guess they were "lucky" to get quota on a species that has been closed for a long time. It occurs to me they would have been better off fishing red king. Then again, based on the performance of the Wizard and the Time Bandit, maybe not.

It's got to really be demotivating to set 100+ pots several days in a row and have next to nothing to show for it. Keith made a good decision in letting his crew get some sleep after 3 days of getting nothing.

Anyone else think that josh would make a better captain than jake on the cornelia? He seems to take it much more serious. I was also shocked to see jake is (allegedly) smoking weed on the boat. If thats the case, he needs to be fired.

If true, Jake's got real problems. Working a crab boat, trying to stay up for 30-60 hours at a time is a tough place for an addict to try and stay clean. I hope it's not true, but kinda doubt it.

I agree about Josh having it in his blood. You could tell he became much more of a leader last year. Only a matter of time and taking his captains classes before he'll take over.

That boat is just a mess, the captain seems like a jerk, Josh wants to keep everything together and not lose the boat and Jake might be doin drugs again messed up, I found it funny how Keith was takin shots at the Time Bandit saying he has a $2 million boat payment and Johnathan has a corvette payment to make.

I'm sure jonathon thought it was a riot too when he saw it! smile

Am I the only one to ever notice a funny smelling cigarette? More drama for the cameras is my guess. I can see slipping away from the cameras long enough to pop a few pills. Phil's son at the wheel and all the cameras gone while he fires up a doobie? Not buying it.

I love how Lynn turns off the alarm so he can go back to sleep. Nice touch there.

Cornelia Marie is in shambles, must break the old mans heart if he's up above. Hope Josh can get his license so he can continue on the tradition. I'm not sure how extensive it is, but he needs to get on it.

I really like the Seabrooke captain. Guy seems to get it and doesn't have a lot of extraneous drama. Wild Bill, well he kinda gets what he gives.

I hope for the best for Josh and Jake with whatever road they choose. They're pretty young yet to have lost their father and cornerstone of their lives.

It seems like everyone is pushing for them to fill Phil's shoes in some way - and soon. I just don't think either are ready to take control of a boat yet. Heck, neither of them were deck boss yet on their own crew.

The C/M is owned by someone else and they'll be the one to decide who skippers the C/M in the future. Maybe they'll look to the Harris boys to show some initiative toward taking it over but I would be surprised if happened within the next few years. Just my take on it.

If the crew can stay together and weather this out, someone will be a lucky skipper to step on a boat with a crew as tight as theirs.

Rest in peace Phil.

I think those boys on the CM are forgetting their roles. Deckhand now, owner later.

Those kids are a couple losers that wouldn't have had jobs there if their Dad didn't captain the boat. They need to get over the "I lost my Dad deal" and get to work and shut up. I know lots of people that lost a Dad and they didn't become idiots because of it, you move on and keep going.

Jake did nothing to try and prove his innocence. Seems as Josh is stuck in the middle, IMO, trying to help on the ship but sticking up for his brother. All in all, too much drama and added just for TV drama on the CM for me.

Life on the wizard doing nothing for me either. Keep it to the NW, TB, Seabrooke and Wildbill

I hate to accuse anyone of anything, but that Steve guy n the CM doesn't look 100% innocent. He was the dude sneaking off with Jake on the first show and coming 2 hours late, he has Jakes back all the time, he would have to be gone too. I feel sorry for the other 2 guys on the boat.

Interestingly enough, if you check out the Cornelia Marie HSOforum, all those guys are listed as the current crew.

They certainly did edit that way anyhow.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
