Son's First

Very nice bird. I think this is one of the best things going right now are these youth hunts. I’m not a father but I really enjoy hearing and seeing the kids get out there and hunt and enjoy the woods. I’m taking a friends kid with me cause he wants to see how turkey hunting is. His dad only bow hunts deer and really wants to know everything about hunting. Not that I do, but I will at least try and get him out to hear some gobbling and see some strutting and maybe get him hooked on this addicting sport.

Great job! And what an incredible photo. I can see it on the wall in an office for years to come. I will guess that one make the graduation photo board or video in a few years too!!! Again, great job, you sure look like one super proud Dad!!!

Thanks, everyone. We sure had a good time. He actually passed on the first jake through as we were seeing gobblers coming. They hung up and one went around us, the other retreated. A few minutes later, this guy tiptoed in and he decided to take it.

Fun Times~

Very cool. Congrats. Brings me back to when I took my son on his first turkey hunt when he was 11. He wound up shooting a beautiful big tom (and I shot the jake), and we have been going ever since. In fact, he's 19 now, and we'll be hunting turkeys together next week. You most likely have that to look forward to!
