A few nice bluegills from last week-end!....Had a great day on a calm afternoon with the fly rod and some "Bettes" poppers out of my canoe....a few were over 10"...All catch and released...just a great afternoon!(caught at mid-day)...

Whoa now thats a freakishly big gill. I don't have any desire to mount a walleye or a bass, but if I caught that, I'd really think about putting it on the wall. Great catch!

Esox....Geeze thats nice. Back when I was a kid, we used to go down to a sporting goods store in the Foshay Tower, in downtown Mpls., it was called Coreys and they used to run a weekly fishing contest and there were some real doozies.

They would have have some monster fish in there, some pushing the 2 pound mark and some over. I didn't even think the sunnies were real, but they were and they looked like the one you are holding...nice to see that some place can still produce fish like that.

We seen some huge gills in the freezer up in Walker many, many years ago during Musky Derby Days. I also worked with a guy whose friend caught 3 bluegills all over 2 pounds, trolling a spinner and nightcrawlers for walleyes. I think he got his 15 minutes of fame in Outdoor News?

With a little luck, maybe my turn will come someday? And when it do, I'll have one mounted fish on the wall, no matter what the wife says about it!
