Fished all weekend. Lots of walleye fisherman. Tons of guys fishing around the lodge and boat ramp at midnight of opener and only heard about 1 small eye caught.

Also a lot of boats getting after crappies. We did well on those after not much luck on eyes.

Thanks for the report. Was at the cabin Saturday but didn't fish. Got the boat ready and now that the snow is gone was able to do some work on the deer stands and the yard. Good Luck.

As mentioned, the walleye fishing was very slow. We hit the water at 3 a.m and fished until 11 a.m. only boating one walleye (22"). For some dumb reason I tried it again on Sunday. I couldn't get a walleye to bite...... fished 33' of water to 3 inches of water, with all sorts of presentations.

I was working a jig and minnow on a tight break line when I hooked into a BIG FISH! It took all of two seconds to know that it wasn't a walleye grin

Lot of fun and of course released.

Fished Yellow fri sat and sun ,,,the walleyes were not cooperative but we did find some crappies and a few pike ,,,fri the temp was 44 and by the time I left on sunday it was 54 in spots and 48 in the main lake ,,,not as many boats out fishing but you could not ask for better weather to be out fishing in,,, but if only the water had warmed up the week before the walleye fishing would have been better

I am headed up for the holiday weekend, but likely won't get out on Yellow for any fishing. Need to replace the water pump on the fishing boat, and also need to get the wifes ski boat and lift out and in the lake. With kids sports and all the other honey-do list projects, dad's fun time is cut pretty short.

I was up last weekend and on Saturday the water temp. ranged from 49-52. We fished down by Jeffries for a few hours earlier in the day on Saturday and had one bite. We moved over to Becky's bar because the wind and caught a 16" 'eye in a 2 hour period. The people I've talked to that are catching are getting them in deeper water. With the warmer weather this week and coming holiday weekend, the water should warm enough so the walleyes finish up spawning and the panfish will begin to move shallow. I'll be up there this holiday weekend. Don't know how much fishing I'll be doing but whatever fish I catch, I'll fill you guys in.

Until then, good luck and be safe!

Yep, I'll be spending some quality time on the water this weekend too...FINALLY! As always, I hope to land a few walleye, but the crappie fishing was SO good last year, that I will probably target them mostly.

Haven't been to Yellow yet this year, but plan on heading up next weekend. Need to go to Grand Forks for a family event this weekend. Last weekend I was in Hayward and we pounded the crappies. Caught nearly 100 in the last hour of fishing last Saturday. All slobs, and all released. Best fishing of my life. Couldn't set a pole down without having another one bite.

Good luck to those that fish Yellow this weekend.

Not on Yellow, but up the road on Lake 26.

Neighbor caught a couple 16" bass that he wanted to eat. I taught him how to fillet them and 2 of the 3 were still full of eggs!

Surface temps at 59 degrees in the morning and mid 60's by afternoon.

Crappies had moved shallow >5FOW

Crappies were on fire all weekend. Never targeted walleye, though some caught them on crappie minnows in shallow.

Had the opportunity to take a young girl and her Mom out yesterday morning and we hammered the crappies. The girl outfished us all. She was very excited. Hopefully a trip she'll remember her whole life, I know I will.

Thanks for the report DonBo. Haven't had the boat out yet because of turkey hunting, gardening, etc. But may be up at the cabin this coming weekend to cut the trails, etc. and may even sneak out in the boat grin

Not a lot of time spent on the water due to weather, but it seems the crappie bite is over. frown We did scratch out a few, but NOTHING like last week. Water temps are up over 10 degrees in the last week, mid 70's now. 2+ inches of rain yesterday, more expected today.

Some walleyes are being caught in the 6-10' range, guess it's time to start targeting them.

Thanks for the report. Did make it up to the cabin but didn't fish. In between storms I had to hack down the grass. Put up the trail-cams to hopefully see a few fawns. I'll get on the lake one of these days.

Waiting to see if friends are going to the cabin. May tow the ranger along if weather isn't real bad. Hoping to try for the walleyes.

Well some nice weather really turned things around yesterday. The walleyes were very active, but the keepers were hard to come by. Caught probably 20, but only kept two 16 inchers and released a 22, my biggest in a while. All were caught from 7-14 FOW. Leeches were best, but some came on fatheads too. Also caught a couple big northers while rigging, both right around 36". Nice!

The crappies were on again yesterday too. I did not get in on it, as I couldn't leave the walleye bite, but there were some pretty impressive catches in about 10 FOW, halfway down.

With no shot of fishing this weekend, I played hooky Friday afternoon and headed to the lake. Got on the water about 1:00, by 4:00 I had a limit of 3 nice walleye in the livewell, 17+, 18+ and 19+ along with a bonus 10" gill. A very nice afternoon. After dinner I headed back out and did some C&R.

Just before sunset I thought I'd try some casting for northers, and boated a 40 incher! What a great day.

Walleyes were widely scattered. Caught them from 10-18 FOW. Red hook/bead combo with a leach was the ticket.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
