brassman
here are the pictures of the doe I shot. Two things to know, the pic with the doe in the truck there is a stick in her chest for air flow so it looks bigger than it appears but the hanging pic, I was 165lbs myself for comparison and I was leaning on her brisket. CodyDawg
I wonder if that doe was even attractive to the bucks being so big and fat? Kinda puts it into perspective, eh?

Well we all know society as a whole is getting fatter. I wonder if it's spilled into the deer population. In all seriousness, that's a one huge doe! DOUBLELUNG
Could you imagine dragging a 200+ lb deer 300yard+ all by yourself out of some thick woods? Last year I dragged a 8 pointer out of the woods, with my wife that far without gutting. Thought I was in shape until I did that. The thing weighed 140 dressed. Then this year shot a doe, gutted it then dragged it that far by myself. I thought she weighed 140 lbs. No she only weighed 80 lbs. WOW talk about deceiving. Royce Aardahl
About 30 years ago I was hunting with my brother in ND. A giant doe came out of a shelter belt and he had a doe tag so he shot it. We were thinking godzilla doe. Well we got to it and it had nuts and both antlers were broke off at the base from fighting I suppose. That one was bigger than all the other bucks our party got that year. I was at Ripley in the mid 90's and watched them wiegh a 258 pound 10 pointer. Sheesh what a beast! archerystud
HUGE doe. I think she'd SCARE some poor little bucks away.I've had to drag a 200 lb deer by myself and I'm about 185. If the deer is that large I'm too pumped up and don't really notice how hard it is too drag.
lawdog
WOW what a doe. She's enornmous. Biggest buck I've seen was a not very big racked 10 pointer my brother shot, nice buck, but not a giant rack. The body on this deer though was amazing. He shot it right away Saturday morning and we gutted it and hung it and then took it in Monday morning after haning for two days and it still weighed 212. I can't imagine a 250 pounder, glad we could drive the truck right up to this one, I didn't want to drag that hog anywhere! I shot a 170" brute in Wisc and he only weighed 193 lbs. 200 lber's are RARE!
umichjesse
Quote: In the mid 90s, we had 3 or 4 go over 200 and a couple by a long ways. The thing I remember most vividly is how long they were. I agree with the length. The deer I shot 2 years ago had a decent rack, but I was most impressed with how long he was. I am 6'1" 185 lbs. and I could barely get him off the ground even with a pully. Once he was up, he was way taller than me even with rigor mortis keeping his hind legs bent. Even as big as he looks, he was only 210 lbs. field dressed. I can't imagine a 300 lber. camdu7
My last three MN bucks were 235, 225, and 240. The 240 was this year and I could not gut at the kill site because of the landowners request. I'm still sore from putting that hog in the truck. It is kinda funny when guys haven't seen a mature buck up close and how big they really have to be to weigh more than 200 dressed. If someone can post a pic for me that would be cool. N7709K
The biggest deer that I have ever shot was this year. I would guess that the doe was about 150 pounds dressed. I had to work for this deer a lot more that the last one that I shot. My dad and I tracked my doe about 4 to 5 miles. 1/2 a mile of that was in a waist deep swamp.
