"One time, Maybe an accident, 2 times and especially AJ, not an accident"

That's exactly it. Even though a rival, most of the Sox roster still gets the benefit of the doubt. A.J. has earned no benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately he has taught everyone to expect the worst from him.

If you watch the video closely, AJ's left foot hits on the baseline as he makes his last stride to first base. His next landing is with his right foot on on the inside of first base and the back of Morneau's shoe. That would mean he would have had to bring his right leg across his body and have it land 12-18 inches to the left of where his left leg is was and ends up 3 feet inside the baseline when he passes first. That is a major change of direction. That to me means one of two things. He either did it intentionally or he spiked the Gatorade and was pounding that down in the early innings.

When I played, I always gave the first baseman the edges of the base. If he was positioned properly, it was no problem. But, when the first baseman is out of position and 'reaching' back to find the base, and if he missed the edge of the base and ended up on top of the base, he got my cleats (period). Basically, if he makes a good play, no problem...if he flails, gapes-out, or is otherwise out of position for the play, I'ld do whatever I could to get on base. Was the play unsportsmanslike? Yup. Was it within the generally accepted guidelines for play? Yup.

Hollywood Pete,

A runner running over a prone catcher is 100% clean play...since when?? It's dirty but it's accepted in the baseball world, so is this "non story" that you guys are trying to cook up. I agree with what Morneau said, it's over, we won. You guys won the game and nobody got hurt. Build a fence and get over it!!

It all kind of reminds me of all of you Sux fans whining and crying like little girls when Hunter ran over your catcher. You also didn't seem to think it was "dirty" to run over a catcher when AJ did it to Barrett last year did you? confused.gif You never cease to amaze me with your double standards.

Indeed it is, and if Morneau blocked first base, then I would fully expect AJ to put his shoulder into Morneau's sore nose.

You're right Windy, we should just let this go. So don't be posting anymore excuses for AJ. grin.gif

Don't worry Pier, Windy isn't fooling anyone; I just like to point out his hypocrisy to see what kind of talk spin he'll use to try to defend what he says, it's usually good for a laugh.

We will just ahave to see what windy has to say about it when buddy gets what he has comeing to him. Then we can all say it was an accident. And for a catcher getting run over it happens when they block the plate right.

Schweady,

You're the first person that has picked up on what I was saying. Drop it, move on, win the games. I think the rest of the "Ernest and Julio" crowd should take your advice. Beat em between the lines. Sweep the series tomorrow and move on. Play some baseball and see what happens.

Yeah, brings back fond memories of the series sweep I saw down at the Cell in July '04. In the first game, Hunter scores on a shallow sac fly, knocking Burke on his kiester and the WhSux never recovered. I believe Davis caught the rest of the series. Reading all of the chirping in the ChiTribune that whole week was almost as fun as being at the games. Good times between the lines.

Here's a little clearer shot.

I'm not sure how this would look through White Sox colored glasses....if it was his left foot, I could MAYBE see some of the excuses being floated as valid....but his right foot? No way that was accidental.

Hopefully they can finish the sweep today.

A.J. is a punk and even worse, a dirty player. He'll get his. No doubt he did it on purpose - if you think otherwise you're just as big of a punk and he is. Hopefully Joe Nathan gives him 96 in the back later this year - gotta make it hurt.

OH MY GOD! Clearly Morneau was blocking the bag and AJ had no choice.

I think a little up and in , and down and out, on every other pitch for todays game. Is he playing today? If so he needs one in the ribs some time this series, its a ball game, thats how it works!

I think your clear photo illustrates my point better than yours. If AJ wanted to get Justin he would have planeted his left foot on his ankle. You can see him clearly trying to avoid his foot with his right foot flexed to the right and nothing is touching poor Justin's little tootsies except the outside sole of the side of his foot. Remember he was trying to break up a double play on that play. And his head is down to make sure he did not step on poor Justin.

And as long as you still have your undies in a bunch, the shoes AJ are wearing look like rubber spikes to me which would make sense in the Baggie Dome. Maybe Justin has an alergy to rubber and AJ could have caused a severe allergic rash. I think this demands a full league investigation....Come on guys....Who's with me?????

Thanks Hollywood Pete!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
