Questor
Typically mid-February is my biggest month because I'm checking my tackle for things that need to be repaired or replaced. I also use it as a time to think up new ways to fish and will buy stuff I need for those new ways.
traveler
Seriously, pretty much any month:) I'm always drawn to the clearence racks looking for bargains. I guess theres more summer stuff on sale in the fall, but any day is a good day for a clearence sale:)

Rost
Right now! And I need to stop! Actually, I just need open water to come fast so I can settle down a bit. Every year I get excited for open water about this time. I've found that when I get into this mood, it's really easy to talk myself into buying stuff I really don't need. Eric Wettschreck
Anytime I'm in a store I usually buy something tackle related. And, like others, I should stop, but I'm not gonna.
Fishbreath1
I hit it hard come March usually becuase that's when I'm buying the next fishing license. I don't live in Duluth anymore but this is when I used to stock up on Looper tackle and get ready for those freezing mornings by the French river. Fish Head
How common all this sounds. This is just starting the time of year where I work myself into a frenzy waiting for the open water. Am I the only one who can't wait for the sports show in late march? I buy tackle all year, but now through May I probably buy the most.

Deitz Dittrich
I am sure I do it all wrong.. I buy bulk stuff in marchish... and then buy stuff as I need it from there on out.
Sifty
I just watch as stuff goes on sale and do alot of "looking". Nothing like a walk thru the store to get the spring fever going.Sifty
Bobby Bass
To be honest I have so much stuff that I don't need to go shopping. I cleaned the basement this winter and found so much stuff in unopened packages that I decided to actually empty all of my tackle boxes and take inventory. It was a good idea till the cats started to relocate inventory upstairs. I still look but I leave the wallet in the truck. I am eyeing a few new reels though.... can never have enough reels..... or rods... or spinner baits or......
Wayne Ek
I'm like Deitz. Most of the pro-staff or field-staff orders arrive by late March or early April. I have more than enough terminal tackle. So around the end of March beginning of April I will start to take inventory on bulk plastics and reorder what ever I need. Then if something new comes on the market and it piques my interest I will buy a few of that item to try out.
Daze Off
I'm buying the inventory of my new tackle shop one bag and one lure at a time... My triggers are usually Christmas and the arrival of the new catalogues and the issue of Bassmaster magazine about new tackle for the coming year. After that I only buy on days that end with "y" Daze Off
gilby
I start getting serious about buying stuff when they start to clearance tackle. I try to keep up on new stuff as well, a few new things a year. Then I like to replace anything that I loose as soon as possible, but I guess I"m always looking and never hesitate on buying if I want it bad enough. kaz2611
i usually stock up on what i know works for the areas i fish for that season and replace or repair damaged tackle im the type of guy if i get a snag i dont waste 10 minutes trying to get it undone i just cut the line and retie and try not to make the same mistake twice.also when im fishing an area i ahvent been i usually ask whats been working such as colors and type of tackle and if the bait shop would like to sell some of their goods they probably will tell you. afterall they want you to catch fish and return again i would think. hitthebricks
Everytime I go into a store with major inventoy and selection. I never really spend alot $20-30, unless its a new rod/reel but I try to buy those with Cabeleas Bucks, this way it never breaks the bank, but sometimes I duplicate purchaces by accident. Evert year there seems to be a major purchace for fishing equiptment that I can justify because I don't waste my extra money at the casonos or pulltabs. smmurphy
I buy open water in february and all year long. I can't go into gander, cabela's, or fleet farm without getting some type of fishing equipment. My wife now frowns if I even mention going to any of those locations on escorted. tunrevir
I buy all year and try to stop in at Gander o0nce a week to see if there are any items in the bargin bins. 10-40 bucks a trip is not unusual. I can rarely resist getting a couple new spoons or jigs when picking up bait. Come to think of it maybe that is why they call it bait to get you into the store to buy stuff! DARK30
I usually get my tried and true tackle online. My inventory is in good shape..all I'll need is some new line. If its something new and I'm not sure about it, I go to an outlet so I can handle it first...anytime during the year bargain or not..could be VISA time!
