Well not to rub it in on everyone else but I am going to the Grand Opening on Oct 10th. This one was by special invite for what I believe is the people and there families who helped build it and possibly employees. Anyway I can't wait until Monday. smile.gif

Neiko -

Will see you there then I'm sure - I will be at the same sale - employee pricing for everyone!!!!! The general contractor that built it is the same one who we are using to build our project so I got an invite. Got any idea what employee discount is for Cabela's?

I am told their sales volume for this sale equals and sometimes exceeds Grand Opening

Ready....Set....Charge!!!

Daze Off

This isn't the same "special invite" that everyone else in the tri-state area is getting is it? Those cards are everywhere. I doubt I'll go though as there will probably be more people at the special invite opening than the "normal" store opening. lol

Looks like it should be a nice store. Roughly 35,000 sqft bigger than Owatonna. From watching the news the other night it appears that it'll have about the same scenery (mountain, African safari, etc. I was hoping for a little more change in design from the Owatonna store, but can't complain as it's a little closer for me.

Hey guys I work at cabelas in rogers. I work auto-atv and we do open on Oct 14. We do have some special invite stuff going on during the week. Like contractor night and cabelas club and a vip media night and also a night for employee to bring in there family(only living under there roof though)

The place looks amazing. Were in the process of doing last minute things a little extra freight all that fun stuff. It should be a great time. We do have actual cash lanes in rogers so that should be nicer then the set up down south. Hope to see all you guys there. If you need something for your wheeler or trucks come visit me in auto atv.

Dave

P.S employee discount is between 0-40% depending on the item.

Gess-

We'll be appreciating all your hard work and efforts once October 14th rolls around. If there are certain sales going on during that week, feel free to post them here! I'm only about 50 miles away so coming down during the week isn't a problem.

Thanks for the info. and keep up the hard work!

The way the discount was explained to us is buy the purchase price that cabela's has paid. Most of the cabela's brand stuff is the higher discount. I am not sure but I know for emplyees if there is a buy something get something free deal you dont get it with the discount. So your better to pay the full price and then you get the free item. It works out better in the end then buying the items seprate.I hope that makes sense.. Its been a long day today..haha

I know archery departmant has some ladder stands for the opening. Im not sure of the price. As soon as I find out ill post what I can. All I can say is watch for something in the paper.

I don't know how these things happen but I got an e-mail today with an attachment for the K/A Contractor's Grand Opening in which you will receive the "employee discount".

Man I wish I had a shopping list and some extra cash. grin.gif

Who wants the flyer? grin.gifgrin.gif

I work for the HVAC & Plumbing contractor that performed the work. My understanding was that it was suppose to be "Contractors Night". Evidentially, everyone must be a contractor. The guy in front of me in line said he got his invite from the intenet. It was a complete zoo. 1 1/2 hour waits to check out, people every where, and not all items in stock. The items I wanted were not in stock so I had to wait in the customer service line for 1 1/2 hours to order my items so I could get "Contractor" pricing.

However, the wait was worth the savings. The deals were great. I figure I saved about $575.00. Most items with the Cabela's name were 40% off and other items varied depending on what they were. For example, new guns were 5-10% and used guns 15%. I purchased a gun safe at 20% off.

I'll go back after the store is open for a couple of months just to check out the store (fish tanks, mounts, services)

I heard there was over 3,000 people there the other night. The employee pricing was good on even stuff in the catalog- I couldn't believe that.

Zara- You saved over $500.00! With that kind of deal, how can a guy say no to getting product at that discount?!?! LUCKY.

I went with my wife and her brother at 5PM. Parking was quick and orderly. There was a golf cart there by the time I got out of the truck to give a ride to the front. No I am not a contractor. A friend works for K/A and gave me a invite. It said right there that it could be copied and passed on. We didn't know the specifics on the discount until we were in line to check out. My thought was buy it now and return it later if you didn't like the discount. Well I will be keeping everything I bought. We checked out upstairs in the General Store and it took us about an hour. I was late for work but it was worth it.

I work for Graco, our Rogers plant all got the invites as well.

It seems that they gave out a lot of "contractor, employee" invites to the whole area up there.

Fellow employee's said they were stuck in the lines just trying to go home, some said it took them an hour to get out of Rogers onto the freeway.

Looks like my theory on the so-called "special invite" was pretty accurate! Glad I stayed away from that mess. I'm at the point where waiting for hours and hours for a discount isn't worth it anymore. Time is more valuable!

That place should be a busy one for quite a while. I wonder how business is doing at Owatonna now? One thing that will be nice is that during "card weekends" the crowd should be split up a little between the two stores.

I had an invite too. When I made my way down 94 the traffic jam was backed up 5 miles. When I got to where I could see cabelas, I could see the line going out the parking lot, down the frontage road (which was also used for parking), it made the corner and went both ways on 101. I exited there and headed North to grab some dinner at Blackwoods in Elk River instead. Had a great Walleye sandwich! No way I wanted to be a part of that mess.
