sheepheadslayer
You guys prolly will laugh but i never go walleye fishing without the polish depth finder. This is just a 30' tape measure. Yes i have a vex but this is as acurate and compact as it gets. You will never believe at how well you can feel the bottom of the lake in 30' with this. mud gravel rock sand can all be felt when measuring. Also measures your fish

JoeT
I see a lot of people use a 11# propane tank, of course its twice as large as a 5#er, would you say much better or just depends on how much you fish?

stick
My advice (I started my daughter at just under 3 years) is to chase the pans and keep the trip short. I have a buddy with a cabin in Wisconsin, and we are able to hammer the sunnies (bulls, I might add) 50' from shore in front of their cabin. Initially, it was about 15-20 minutes until she lost interest. Now, she is pretty passionate for fishing overall. I commend you for making it a point to introduce your kids to the outdoors. It has kept my entire family close since the beginning.

federline
gvg_uwec:I second the $0.99 plastic ice scoop! I've got one with the hooked handle, it hangs inside my portable nicely and indeed, scoops minnows, too, I bought it at a gas station in Glenwood, MN. I've bought nice ones before, but they tend to not float when they get accidentally dropped into the hole. I left one on the bottom of a lake every winter. If I get to URL this year, I know what to bring to sacrifice to the Triangle.- The Fed
