hawkeye43
Get yourself a bottle of Aloe Vera 100% gel. Its the best thing that I have found for sunburn and I get sunburn easy. It cools the burn and moisturizing the skin
Hooked On a Feeling
100% aloe vera with no alcohol added, I believe there are a few brands that skip the alcohol and are just pure aloe. Aloe with Lidocaine is best, gives that cool feeling on your skin.
Gus
keep that aloe lotion in the fridge too. Sure feels good going on cold!
Jeremy airjer W
White vinegar! I know it sounds bazzar but it works. you need to use it soon after you notice the burn. For small areas just aplly with a wash cloth and let dry. For larger area fill up the bath tub and roll around. It will take the sting out within a few minutes. I know it won't smell good but I swear this works!

fishnhooks
You might want to combine a couple the the sugestions.. like maybe CrappieToms idea Quote: A good woman with soft hands and lots of refridgerated lotion. and Archer59's idea Quote: I would guess very cold cold beer! These two ideas sound pretty good together. "hooks"
fish-n-geek
I've used the vinegar trick, too! Works wonders. You can soak a washcloth or hand towel and leave it on the skin for a while. Does a great job on the sting. Aloe will still keep you from peeling tho.
SUNNYD
I have experience on this one...I was burned so bad in Hawaii this spring...(me mr. tough guy thought I would be OK without sunscreen for 5 hours...wrong!!!) Note to self...Hawian Sun is nothing to mess with. I had a mild case of heat stroke from this burn and I didn't end up peeling for a month, my back, shoulders, face and head were like leather.Well I run into a guy from the Willmar area who spends a month a year in Kona(The Big Island) on my plane ride back which was not a very comfortable one due to the intense burn. He tells me without cracking a smile that I should go out a get a big tub of Yogurt and rub that on. I followed through and it was the best feeling stuff I could ever imagine to put on my sunburn. We had some aloe vera gel to use while I was in Hawaii, but that stuff turned to liquid as soon as it hit my skin, that is how intense this burn was.Maybe if you can convince your wife or girl-freind to help out, you can get a little risque and get the flavored stuff...;-)
FOOT
A good all around ointment is FOILLE. You can find it in most drug stores. It's great for burns, sunburns, chaffing and other abrasions. It burns like hell for the first few seconds but then the pain disappears. And I mean disappears. TonkaBass
Well, I guess sunburn gets worst before it gets better. I wasn't at work today because I couldn't hardly bear to wear a shirt. I did have my girlfriend rub some lotion on me and put cool washcloths on my back in 5 min intervals over an hour period (sweetheart, I tell ya). Thanks for all the advice, I found beer does do a good job, for real. All in all I guess it was worth it, hadn't been fishing for a couple weeks:( Today is the same day my father passed 4 years ago, so although I'm well-done, I tried to put a smile on my moms face! Buddy of mine went out today for 4 hours and caught 1 14" perch and 2 walleyes, one 23" and one 26.5". Maybe they slowed down???
FOOT
Tonka, I wish I had known about the FOILLE ointment I mentioned in an earlier post. I was in the service and being very easy to burn I was in serious trouble back in 1966. I was wearing only cutoff fatigues in the hot sun and got a burn so bad I was in the hospital for 4 days. Beleive me the military does not take kindly to dumb s---s troops like me getting sunburn. The only thing that saved me was the fact that I was young, stupid and oversees in a tropical location. The nurses covered me with some kind of lard like lotion and kept wet towels over me 24 hours a day. To this day, 39 years later, I have a permanent suntan on my legs from where the cutoffs stopped to the tops of my feet. It weren't much fun. 76k20
in my experience some ibuprofin works wonders for the sting. about the same relief as a sixer of ice cold mickeys but you can take it to work without the hassle .
walleye_jigger
This may sound a little weird but when ever I get a littel crispy I take a sauna. It really stings for the first couple of minutes but then it stops. The weird thing is that I never peel and it doesn't hurt no more when I do this. I don't know how to explain it but that is just what I have experienced.
