OK, I'm nearly going mad waiting for the opener (which is in 2 days, 10 hrs, 6 min's, and 37 sec's). I absoluted can't wait to throw three lures:

1) Jig -n- Pig

2) 8" lizard t-rigged

3) 5" Stick bait weightless

So what is going in the water first for you guys???

Having trouble concentrating on work,

Ah, this is exactly what I was thinking about last night.

Here's what I'm thinking about rigging:

1. Wacky-rigged Senko

2. Tandem spinnerbait

3. Husky jerk or X-rap

4. Either a soft-plastic jerk or an bucktail spinner

Give me some more ideas!!!

It's almost here!

The spinerbait will be good for active fishig no doubt about it.

If there are a few left on the beds, Lizards.

And you just can't go wrong with a senko.

Best of luck

It generally doesn't matter what you use on the lake I fish but I will have four rods set up.

1) White Spinnerbait

2) Pre-rigged worm

3) X-rap

4) Shallow Crank (4-6 ft.)

Small lake, lots of active bass this time of year! No need for slow lures.

O2BFSHN-we'll have to compare bass thumbs after the weekend, and no you cannot catch just one and rub its teeth on your thumb like you usually do.

Good luck~Squeedunk

I have to work this weekend but will be out Monday and Tuesday. Mine will be:

1. floating rapala (deadly this time of year)

2. lizzard w/ very light weighted owner hook

3. senko

4. soft jerkbait

I hope this stuff works!

cool.gifGood Fishin' and don't forget the net!

Don't you love just sitting with your tackle box/bag and rods and reels and rigging up what you're going to use? Good luck to you. Don't forget about those failproof plastics smirk.gif

I don't see any topwater on the list, whatta shame! I'll be out this weekend(although not today) from shore. I stay real simple when I'm fishing from shore, so I'll have

1)A spinnerbait

2) 4" senkos

3)A popper

4)Another soft plastic(with bullet weight optional)

5)Jerkbait(maybe x rap)

When I shore fish I stay real simple. I find it's the best way to do it from shore. When I hit the river, I'll substitute those senkos for jigs and twistertails. When those remain your only options, it's much harder to feel overcome with options, and its easy to catch fish. Good fishin to all, don't forget to practice CPR!

Thought I'd bring this one back to the top because I've been trying to figure out what I am going to have rigged up this weekend.

Here's what I have got planned to start with...for now:

Soft jerk bait

Yum dinger--wacky rigged

Spinnerbait

Shallow shad rap or a hard jerk bait, not sure yet

I will start with a topwater, mostly because they are a blast when they get hit, but also because I just got some new ones and can't wait to try them out. After that, I will go with T-Rigged plastic something. I can't decide which one yet.

1. tube

2. Sweet beaver

3. sluggo

4. chatterbait

For the last week or so, I've been doing really well with this combo. Especially impressed with the Sweet Beaver; I've been going through them like crazy! The most productive method so far is throwing the tube into a pocket, if I miss the bite I throw the beaver, and whamm! I'd seriously recommend getting a pack or two of the beaver style soft plastic; and just work it slow.

1. tube and jig

2. topwater

3. fat rap or shad rap of some kind

4. spinner.

5. maybe something like a 4" power worm. either wacky rigged or on a jig

will probably bring some leeches along as well

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
