Valv
Let's see if we know or we can guess what's going to be the weather on opener weekend. Is it going to rain south and snow north ? Will it be 80degrees everywhere ? 60mph wind ????Anybody knows a good Weather Man ?
gunflint
Rain mixed with sleet and snow. Winds out of the east with gusts up to 35 miles an hour. Man I love the opener.
Slyster
I will go for an excellent opener this year: 76 degrees. Partly cloudy. Winds SE at 10-15. Mark my words!
frabillfisher
Well..definitly rain beacuse it wouldnt be the opener without it and lets see I spose it should be windy to probably 30-45 as long as im out there fighting the rain already
Captain B.R.K
From past opener history.......opener tends to be a bit soggy with a slight wind. Then Sunday seems to always be warm and sunny. The walleye gods wouldn't have it any other way for us
Fisher Dave
How about some Thunder SNOW??? That would be a new one.. I have seen just about everything else on opener.I'll take a guess at a cool opener for the year.. lows around 30ish, highs in the low 50's.. light winds. It will warm up on Sunday and the wind will pick up, rain will start in the evening.
Skitterpop
Just like all openers...windy with a good chance of wind and people with motors that wont start clogging up the access. Maybe around 50 with a cold front that moved through Friday night so if the sun comes out you can take off the winter clothes you put away when the ice season ended but had to take back out and bring along because it was 35 when you got to the lake. I love the opener, everyone who was chasing crappies are now wasting their time oops I meant pursuing lock jawed cold front walleyes and gives me lots of fishing area for to catch the beautiful crappie. So go chase those walleyes on opening day so I can have more room to catch and not just fish ! I wait about 2 weeks before chasing the waldos when the water warms up just a bit more and the crappie are slowing down.
Reel Don
Jeeez guys! Look at how it's been. I'm going for 58 to 65, 6 to 8 mph wind, slightly overcast but no rain, and 47 degree water temp. Go get um!
LocalGuide
I would have to guess a cool over night temp, some early morning fog and some mist. Then a cloudy morning to mid afternoon and a by supper time the skys will be clearing and it will be another cold clear night again. Of course we have to throw some wind in there too. I would say a calm morning with increasing winds to the afternoon about 10-15mph. Lol, that sounds too good. I just better say a high of 40º, windy (25-30 mph) and rain. Now thats more like it. Rip_Some_Lip
I just checked the 15 day forcast on accuweather. It doesnt look too good. I saw the words "possible snow".
Eric Wettschreck
In my corner if the state I'm thinking the weather will be windy with a chance of wind, possible wind starting a century ago and lasting until the planet explodes, with more wind later in the day. Freezing wind in the evening changing to more freezing wind at night, with gusts of frozen wind towards morning. Then again, it may just be a little windy. fish-n-geek
Just checked accuweather for the 'sconni opener May 7. 65F, mostly sunny and SE at 6mph. Sounds like I'll have to have the heater on in the camper overnight and a jacket in the morning, but should be good fishing!-r-
JohnMickish
Crappy with continuing crappy all weekend. Monday however will be wonderful, as will the Friday right before opener.

Northlander
I hope its real cold and windy with lots of rain! Then Ill have the river all to myself! Seriously though Im guessing 52 degrees with light rain and variable winds out of the N.E. of 15-25mph.
Proctor Pete
Northlander, around here the wind is almost always out of the NE! Anyway, who cares....it's the OPENER! WOO HOO!-Pete
BDR
The way it feels out there this morning, we could have a snowstorm. Rain or shine I will be ready for opener. Now I just have to figure out where.
squeedunk
Midnight of opener friday: 44-51 degrees depending on where you are in the state, 5-10 MPH wind out of the SW. Saturday highs near 65, lows in the upper 40's, scattered rain, winds out of the South at 9-17 MPH. Barometric pressure 29.37 and rising. UV index 3. Ahh heck I don't have a clue but it would be great if I were anywhere near correct! 20 days, 7 hours, 54 minutes!!!!!!!!!
sami0115
it wouldn't be an opener if it wasn't in the 40's and rainy!
Northlander
I hear ya Proctor Pete. N.E. seems to be a every other day ordeal in the " NORTHLAND" doesnt it?
Captain B.R.K
Geez- with this cold snap now at the end of April going until beginning of May we JUST might have ourselves a decent warm/dandy opener! The weather now, plus some light rain, is what we are up against on openers....so it seems anyway.
Ely Lake Expert
Here's my guess, (hope i'm wrong) 37 degrees, 20 mph nw wind, and about 8 inches of snow.
Fisher Dave
Well .. I was pretty close.. had the wind backwards.SaturdayMostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the morning... then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs 50 to 55. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent. Saturday Night through Sunday NightPartly cloudy. Lows 40 to 45. Highs around 60. (I looked into wind and they are calling for NW wind shifting to SW throughout the day at 5-10 mph)
Slyster
Don't give up hope! I'm still looking for "76 degrees. Partly cloudy. Winds SE at 10-15"...
Ole #1
A positive for the area I'm fishing (Alex), the wind on Saturday will be from the NW and Sunday it will change to SE. Usually when the wind changes like that, the walleye bite pretty good. It's supposed to be 61 and sunny too, yes!
