stone legacy revolution bags...

I have heard a lot of good things about the stone legacy revolution bags. For those of you who own them, what does the rod storage compartment looks like. Does each rod has a protective slot or if it is like my current rod bad which has just one large pocket for rods. Any help would be much appreciated!

There is 4 deviders in it. You can get 4 bigger rods in it real eazy or up to 8 smaller ones. I usually run 6 rods in it and all my tackle etc. in the big storage compartment. Nice thing is its hard sided and protects your rods reel nice.

Each rod has its one slot/divider that seperates it from the next rod. You can store your rods and tackle in the Revolution and throw it in the back of your truck and not worry about anything getting broken. I'm pretty hard on my ice gear and my rod bag gets a ton of use and has been through a lot and I've never had a problem when using the Revolution with anything getting damaged. And like Northlander said, there is also a ton of room in the bag for extra tackle and gear too.

Good Fishin,

Matt Johnson

After some of the guys looked at my bag, I had to order 4 more bags, all delivered the next day.

The only problem I have with them, when we all get together you can't tell them apart. So I just take them all home grin.gif

Maxwell, you can get them from this site. I ordered mine from this site from Midwest rod and reel and had it the next day!!!!!!

This bag is awesome. I have a unibucket which is ok, but the revolution beats it hands down. I really like the rod storage divider thingys. Tons of room for the reel handles which I didn't have with the unibucket.

This is the first year that I used a bag to carry my gear, used the 5 gal. bucket before. Your rods are protected and you have all the gear you need in the bag. Your gear isn`t flopping around in your portable and if you don`t use a shelter your gear is on your back which is easier to carry.

I just got off the phone with Bill. He's down at the show right now. He told me he has only one of each case with him. So if you want a Revolution, just hit their HSOforum Midwest Rod and Reel and order one up. He'll process the order ASAP, and Stone Legacy will drop ship them directly to you, post haste!! I ordered up a Revolution not more than 10 minutes ago and Bill says I should see it possibly as soon as saturday... Great guy to talk to! VERY helpful!!

Howdy All...

Due lack of deliverys on monday... My revloution bag arrived today. Folks... This bag is SLICK!! I was a bit leary of it's gear capacity when I first saw it. As I got into transfering everything from my old bag to the Revolution... First, all six rods... Hmmm... Room for two more. (I like that idea!!) I just kept going and going and going... I never ran out of space. In fact, I have extra... (Now... what else do I want?... errr... NEED. grin.gif)

My only "beef" (if you even want to call it that) is that my 36" pike/laker rod just fits by the skin of it's teeth. Not a real problem at all really, but an extra 1/2" would have been nice to have.

This bag, my friends, comes HIGHLY recommended from a world class pack rat. The only thing I couldn't fit into this bag was my kitchen sink. But that's already mounted in my Otter... So no problem!! grin.gif

If you're an avid ice angler, or just someone that wants ALL his/her ice gear in ONE place... The Revolution is for YOU!! Check it out..

I have to admit that if I had seen the Stone bag before recently buying a 4-rod soft sided bag I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. Then I go to URL/LOW this past weekend and one of the guys has one and I can say I was very impressed!

Boy my 12 yr old son doesn't realize how much "new/good" hand-me-down gear he has coming his way in the very near future.

Good point about using it for the tipups as well so I can convince my wife that I really need a new hard-shelled version.

Not to go against the grain here, but I actually didn't like mine and returned it. I found it hard to find the tackle that I needed. I have all of my tackle arranged in small tackle boxes depending on what species I was fishing. When I put them into the Revolution bag I couldn't find the one that I wanted. I use a bucket buddy bag that fits around a five gallong pail. It has lots of pockets to orginize my gear the way that I want. I put my poles in the pockets where the pliers and screwdrivers would have gone. My depth finder goes inside the pail and away I go. The only advantage that I seen was that you could just throw the hole thing in the back of the pickup and go home. But I prefer to put my poles in the backseat any way. Just beacme another thing to drag along. Always seemed like I was taking a bucket along just for the fish. Now I just put them under my depth finder for the ride home.

Just one mans opinion. smirk.gif

Ice fishing is a sport that people do in many different ways. I've always said that you have to figure how you fish and assemble your gear based on that. If the Revolution doesn't suit your style, no use being handicapped by it. So I totally respect your opinion.

I know what you mean with your tackle boxes. I did the same thing the first time out and I found out it was best to keep all my little tackle trays in my soft side tackle box. I have found another use for the zippered compartment and that is for my Little Dipper scoop. As far as rod storage goes, it absolutely rocks for me.
