icehousebob
My favorite is Grumpy Old Men, but my opinion is slanted because I was an extra in that movie. They recruited me while I was buying minnows at a bait shop. Walter Mathau was a wild man and couldn't walk by me without tugging my beard and making some comment about my lunch hanging in it. The director was running scared of Walter and the crazy extras. Walter's antics between takes were funnier than the movie, but the sensors would have cut out about 3/4ths of it. Farley
I was hunting in Kansas last week and every time we'd ask one of the locas if anyone ice fishes they would bring up Grumpy Old Men. One guy actually knew the name of the lake (Lake Wabasha?).
Harmonica Bear
JAWS! Hands down, Jaws rocks. When Hooper, Quinn, and Cheify are out in the Orca trying to catch a "porker",... from the dialogue, to the acting, to the cinematography it gets no better.Grumpy Ol' Men is pretty darn good, a close second (after all the name of my house on Mille Lacs is the Green Hornet, so I have to give it some recognition).A River Runs Through It is pretty good, too. Eric Wettschreck
Harmonica Bear, not to change the subject but I noticed you live in Linwood. Have you been there long??? I grew up there.
McGurk
I can't believe I didn't think of that; Jaws! You're right, Harmonica Bear, that is the best fishing movie of all time. That masterpiece changed the way moviemaking has been done since. I still can't turn away from it if I catch it on TV . "Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women!"McGurk
Harmonica Bear
BG,I have lived in Linwood (by Martin Lake) for about 4 years, in the area for about 10. The lakes in the area ain't what they used to be, of course that can be said for anywhere I guess.McGYep, Jaws! Everytime I come across it on the tube, it stays on the tube. Personally my favorite movie of all time. (I'm not sure what that says about me actually...)Porkers? Somebody say, Porkers?Farewell and ado to you fair Spanish ladies.... Big Roy
I think you guys must not have seen the best fishing movie ever done......BLOOD HOOK...... An all time classic, filmed in the Hayward area, I even did some gopher work for the crew. Giant musky lures pulling innocent victims to death! What more could a group of guys sitting around in a ice shack, beers in hand, could want?

Captain B.R.K
ANother "A River Runs Through It" guy......probably the best show ever to get a guy pumped about fly-fishing. You see the action of the rod/line and you see the end result----a HUGE TROUT being caught!
BarryG
I have to go with Grumpy Old Men. That one sentance that Burgess Meredith said to Jack Lemmon is why I'm finally going to try ice fishing...the experience!
