Floor is all welded up

Looks good.

Are these going to be your runners? Not sure if your going to pull it with something but you may want to get it off the snow a bit higher or you may end up dragging a lot of snow and slush.

I'll be covering the bottom of the floor and runners with UHMW.

I've put a lot of thought in the hitch which will also be lined with plastic and push the snow under the skid.

Plan is to have the whole house ride up on top of the snow

Hopefully with good sealing hole covers or you may end up with a house full of snow by the time you get there. :(

Not trying to be a Na-sayer, I've dragged my share of houses and portys across lakes. I love watching stuff get built and see how it's turns out. Keep posting the build. :)

I am following this closely since I am thinking about building one this spring. I am curious as to the dimensions and thickness that you are using. I am planning on using it for early ice and them using the wheelhouse on driveable ice, so I won't be pulling mine through much snow. Thoughts on weight and cost?

I'm guessing under 700lb.

Price should be equivalent to a Alumalite or Ridgeline but built my way

Hitch is made

I think you will be glad you put that snow shield on the bottom. You may think about putting a few more cross braces up the hitch to the top. That thing will bend like a pretzel if you have to pullout at an angle and have heavy snow or slush.  You mite also put a little drop step on the hitch end so it lines up and sits more level with the wheeler or truck ball. Just some thoughts.

Do you have any information on your roof interested in how u did it

What would you like to know?

In a picture I posted Nov 24 you can see the rafters.

They're spaced every 20"

Just welded two pieces of tubing in a slight V.

Have about a 4" rise in the middle.

The sheeting was done in two pieces. One was 10' x about 30".

Bent it so it overlapped the wall sheeting by an inch.

The second sheet was 10' x 4' and was bent the same to overlap the opposite wall and also bent to lay over the peak and overlapping the first sheet.

All good points I've considered.

When I built the hitch I didn't have my tracked ATV around so expected I may have to reengineer the pointed end.

When in sharp turns the tracks can hit the tubing.

It is working good enough for this winter but will make some adjustments for next.

Ok well good luck. When redoing the end you may think about a swivel just a through bolt at the end. More up and down moving spots make for a smoother tow when you have a long hitch like that.  I really hope I'm wrong but I'm calling bend zone without more supports with that long of hitch and weight of house between the Red lines.

Please post pictures if she bends in half, so I can post a smiley I told you! ;)

    • Good win last night!👍
    • Affleck - Dazed Keanu - 1st Matrix Brad - Fight Club Robert Redford - The Sting Chevy Chase - 3 Amigos or Xmas Vacation Nick Cage - Face Off, even thought it's recognizably awful and the plot is terrible.
    • Ben - The Accountant Keanu - John Wick Brad - A River Runs Through It Robert - Jeremiah Johnson Chevy - Caddy Shack Nick - Leaving Las Vegas   2nd picks cuz they’re close: Ben - Good Will Hunting or The Town Keanu - Point Break Brad - Legends of the Fall Robert - The Natural Chevy - Vacation Nick - Gone in 60 Seconds
    • Find this on Amazon and you can use Bluetooth. It has 2 different outputs. 3.5mm and RCA:   Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Bluetooth Streaming
    • Ben Affleck  -  Dazed and Confused Keanu Reeves - Speed Brad Pitt - Sleepers Robert Redford - The Natural Chevy Chase - Nation Lampoon Christmas   Nicolas Cage - The Rock
    • ok I got it figured out, not sure its the best solution but it works.   I thought the 3.5mm jack on the jbl speaker was an output, but its an input so completely scrapped that. I was hoping to go that route so it would charge my phone at the same time.   So instead I opted for this option instead:     It works and I have left and right stereo and its not mono. It sounds ok but I may splurge for a 3.5mm to  digital input cable and see if its worth it.
    • Armageddon Constantine Inglourious Basterds(sp) Jeremiah Johnson The vacation movies   And I don't remember the name of the movie  but Nicholas Cage played a soldier in the Crusades who had to transport an accused witch to another town. Ron Perlman was his partner   Besides fishing, going to movies is another one of my joys in life
    • I'm gonna list 5 Actors, if ya care to play, list your favorite movie that they have appeared in.   Ben Affleck  Keanu Reeves Brad Pitt Robert Redford Chevy Chase   *time out* Bonus 6th pick..... Nicolas Cage
    • I want to connect my iPhone to an old home theater receiver in my garage I am sure there is lots of ways to do this just trying to think of what would be best.   I have an iPhone with no headphone jack. Not a problem I currently put it on a dock with a speaker. That dock has a 3.5mm out that I should be able to convert into something that would work as an input to the receiver?     Here is the back of the receiver, its an old ONKYO that I had set up as a home theater many years ago. Its been collecting dust in the basement and I still have all of the speakers so I thought, hey I could really jam out in the man cave with some good speakers if I can get everything hooked up correctly   I could go 3.5mm to rca (red and white) and I think that would get me stereo and not mono?   Or could I go 3.5mm to digital optical or 3.5mm to coaxial? See all my options circled in red below?
