  1. Yeah I may have worded that wrong, should have said pairing I guess Right now I'm looking at a Pflueger President size 20 reel but can not decide on a St Croix Mojo Ice 28" medium lite or St Croix Avid Ice 30" medium lite
  2. Looking to update a couple of my rod and reels for the fish house. In summer I like my St Croix rods and Pflueger reels. Does St Croix make a good ice rod and are they in alliance with any reel manufacture? Primary look for a rod for 17-20" walleye
  3. No knock offs, I am using Catch Covers and they are tight. My house is basically a toboggan and slides on top of the snow. The Catch Covers are in a spear hole and when pulled snow builds up and will push the cover out of place. That's my thought to screw a lath over the top of the cover, but hope to think of something better
  4. I have an aluminum skid fish house and when pulling to new locations the Catch Covers can snap out of place and then we get some snow in the house. Looking for ideas (other that running a couple screws into the cover) to keep them in place when transporting Thanks
  5. I had a couple Big Buddy heaters and for the most part they work good but I'm looking for options I'm looking for a simpler more dependable heater.
  6. https://www.milacaunclaimedfreight.com/ Milaca Unclaimed Freight is another place for Ice Castle parts. They have a lot
  7. This is normal for all the manufactured Ice Castle, Yeti & Glacier fish houses?
  8. I have a Suburban heater like what is in Ice Castle houses It has a blower to move air. I'm thinking the house is so tight and with the fish holes the humidity builds up That's why I'm wondering if the manufactured houses have some type of vents built in
  9. For those that have a wheeled house do you have problems with frost building up on the windows and door in extreme cold? I built this skid house and it's so humid inside and I have problems with frost/ice build up
  10. I did apply a sealer to the inside of the cedar. It is so soft I wanted to prevent stains or finger prints
  11. Yes, 5/16 T&G I installed last fall. I did the same, but I see this summer it's starting to buckle
  12. When installing T&G cedar on the interior of your fish house do you leave is a little loose or push it tight
  13. I used left over sheeting I sheared and bent to 1.25 x 1.25 angle Installed it using 3M tape
  14. I was able to weight the house before taking it to the lake Got a little heavier than I had hoped, 1100lb (no gear) ATV still pulls it pretty easy
  15. Built an aluminum box on the back for storage. Keep the propane tank, auger, shovel and other stuff in there.
  16. https://youtu.be/OBLyOCsFk6E Pulling the house across the lake. Works pretty good
  17. I built a 6 x 10 skid house and have no problem heating with a Suburban 16K forced air heater. I run it off a 100ah 31 series battery from my boat. I charge it with a Renogy 100w solar panel Nice system, works well
  18. I agree, Fleet is going down hill fast. Used to be one of my favorite stores to shop, now not so much. Now we walk my tampons to get to a mediocre tool, automotive and sporting goods selection. It's nothing more than a glorified Walmart My last experience, 1 cashier open and 11 people waiting in line
  19. From MN DNR First of all, we can’t walk into your house and search your freezers like most people think. We would need consent from the homeowner or have a search warrant (“homeowner”, that also means occupant, lessee, etc.). Where our search authority comes into play is while a person is hunting or fishing. The best way to explain this is to give you an example – if you are out on the ice fishing and I observe you fishing. I also observe you catching fish but never throwing them back into the water. When I talk to you on the ice, you say you don’t have any fish in possession. This is whe
  20. There has to be an easy adjustable way to tie off your decoys for varying depths. I think there is a trick with a button but not sure how it goes. Wish grandpa was still around to teach me this
  21. Anyone with Ice Castle fish house have issue with frost building up around the entry door? It eventually melts and prevents the door from closing properly.
  22. Someone is telling me Nils is out of auger business. True?
  23. I live in central MN but northern MN is still home. Winter is my favorite season. It was always tradition back in the day just before Thanksgiving to deer hunt Sunday ice fish Monday. We are well before that this year up there. They have been driving sleds from Baudette to Waskish I'm hoping it only gets better
  24. They've been ice fishing Upper Red since Nov 7th Were on track for a traditional winter
