Popular Post leechlake
I stumbled on a grill cleaning trick. 1. start grill last Tuesday night, decide at last minute not to use the grill2. leave for Christmas Wednesday am3. Sunday am sit having coffee and see heat coming out of grill4. turn grill off of high and don't tell wifeif your running on a LP tank it's not as effective as having a hard line into house but will work. No tools required. lovebigbluegills, Juneau4, eyeguy 54 and 2 others

leechlake
I still do stupid stuff but now don't have an excuse. Our ice cube maker is feeling a little scorned and underused, my blood pressure is back to normal, I haven't lost an ounce thanks to you guys! That part makes no sense to me.That grill is ruined, years of chicken, beef, pork, fish juice torched to oblivion. I also may have warmed the globe a little, finally global warming makes sense to me. leechlake
the grill is fine, just very clean and we have a stucco house almost impossible to burn down. We have had two houses in our neighborhood burn down. One I witnessed and it was really sad. None were grill related, I think one was a sous vide machine and the other was from a bon fire in the summer that the didn't put out good enough. delcecchi
Great news. The two fires in our area were a weber kettle on a wood deck, and refilling 1lb cylinders in an attached garage.

leechlake
Great news. The two fires in our area were a weber kettle on a wood deck, and refilling 1lb cylinders in an attached garage.kidding about sous vide. One was a bonfire and one was in a really dry spring and someone put out a cigar in the wood landscape mulch, deck caught on fire and it was small so the guy went for the hose but the water was off. We live on a dead end type street and there were so many firetrucks we couldn't leave the neighborhood for 6 hours or so. Weird deal watching that. At first you can't help but look whats going on and then you feel embarrassed you are watching it. They put so much water on the house that the basement had 6 feet of water in it and they were worried about firefighters drowning.
delcecchi
I was wondering about the sous vide. We had a lot of fire trucks for the guy refilling the propane cylinders. He was getting ready to go ice fishing. Had a nice pickup in the other stall of garage. Edited December 28, 2015 by delcecchi
RebelSS
Ya, my fishing buddy Erv learned his lesson, I think. That was his stupid mistake and his house. But, he like others, knew it all and said it's safe. I continually lecture it's the stupidest thing to do, but people continue to do it. smurfy
OUCH........you mean I gotta admit I agree with Reb?????? RebelSS
They are NOT made to be refilled...prob is, the valve often will not reseal, because it's not MADE to be refilled. But, back to the thread! I bet the weather satellites detected a big hot spot in leechlakes's area from space the other day....
leechlake
another issue I had about 15 years ago at our old house and the reason my wife won't allow a gas stove in our house. I grew up with gas stoves, love em.I was cooking something that required a moderatly low flame before church one time. I was home alone and when I left for church I took the thing off the stove BUT didn't turn the flame off. I went to church and then went somewhere afterward and came home about three hours later. When I opened the door from the garage our two dogs stumbled out of the house into the garage. Our black lab especially looked messed up.I went inside and realized quickly the flame had blown out, probably when I opened the door to leave, and the dogs were having some side effects from the gas leak. Opened up the windows and all was good.We now have a hard wired CO detector built in to the house, but have an electric cook top. Double protection. RebelSS
Another biggie I push for...CO detectors. Too many ice fisherman feel safe with the low O2 detectors on the Buddy type heaters.... NOT. You can have low O2 and high CO concentrations. As an EMT Instructor, I couldn't push that hard enough. Ever pulled a cherry red CO poisoned body from an ice shack? Something you NEVER forget. Be safe. Use CO detectors everywhere. I have 3 in my house and garage and 5 smoke/fire detectors....not to mention 5 dry-chem fire extinguishers. Oops, got off the thread again...but, If I can save a live, it's worth it to me. What's your life worth? $100? OK, I'm done. Edited December 28, 2015 by RebelSS lovebigbluegills and icehole10

leechlake
I do have a couple questions in regards to this grill cleaning trick????? do I have to lite grill on Tuesday, anddo I have to wait till next Christmas???????if there is a lot of snow or snow coming just turn the grill on immediately. It saves having to sweep the snow off of it too. Is your automatic starter out? Just leave it running. One match would last the whole year.Ever made someone a steak and they complained it was underdone and you had to go restart the grill? Not with my method since it's always running. How's your grill cleaning tool looking? Pretty ratty I'd guess. Just throw it away since your grill is perpetually clean. I'm sure there are more benefits to my invention. bobberineyes, lovebigbluegills and smurfy

leechlake
then you need to go fishing with me. I have some tricks up my sleeve I could teach you and add to your bad habits. Ever set the hook on your first cast of the year and split seconds later remember you didn't buy a fishing license? Bittersweet feeling to say the least reeling in a walleye and not being able to trash talk your buddies. I have more... icehole10
