Just start transferring boat in back of pickup like jet ski and such, if u dont have trailer then u cannot use a trailer sticker, problem solved

I believe govt is here to help us (a whole difft topic) , this has gone too far. Just because the dnr could not find solutions that worked, we should not be automatically blamed and the requisit bank account to pay for it.

Don't know how I am going to get the boat in the bed of the truck and then I would guess the DNR will require me to license my truck as it is transporting the boat.

Still a issue.

So my dad 73 years old will have to go online when he has never been on the internet? Smart choice.

The link was supplied early on in this thread. All you need to do is read the info. All your questions are answered. There is a paper version for people not net savvy.

Talking to a neighbor over a few beers tonight and he was telling me about the inspections in the western states. His daughter & son in law moved from Iowa to Washington state. His S I L was pulling their boat and was stopped in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho & Washington for AIS inspections. One inspection was only about 15 minutes and the other 3 lasted from 45 minute to an hour.

Just wondering? Other than time delay, was there any other outcome of the stops? whistle

Looking at everything posted in this thread, I see that many simply are not willing to maybe contact their reps as they believe it will not help, could be correct, we will never know.

If we as a boating group do not fight this, then we will accept this as the DNR and Legislature is not going to change it.

So, we will take out test and get our decals except for RRR, he will pay a fine, only question is, how much will he pay?

Pretty much the end of this story.

If you really do call them for even half of what you say you do I'd bet a hundo they hang up, laugh, and totally disregard your opinion just for bugging them so much.

Alagnak, maybe not, my represenitive actually asks for my opinions now through email. Some reps, want to now how constituents feel. They cant have community meetings about everything they vote on, there is not enough time for all that.

Calls and emails are very important, it shows the pulse of public sentiment.

I understand that its importand, i agree. I'm just fairly certain the 3 that call the very most probably get tossed to the side. Just because you call and B' the most doesn't mean you represent the most- you just have too much time on your hands that's all. And I bet its annoying as heck.

Talked to the neighbor again. The inspections were set up at DOT truck scales as you entered states on major highways. Most of the delay was waiting for the inspection. Sounded like the inspections MN has at some launches, they looked in livewells in the bilge and under the boat with mirrors. His son in law's boat passed all the inspections, but it had to be washed at one of them because Iowa was one of the states on a list inspectors had that all of the boats from those states had to sanitized.

I call Alagank and no, no one hangs up, we typically discuss these topics for some time.

I would guess we had 5-6 very good discussions on the proposed and new maji law now in place.

Please send the Hondo as soon as possible, I can use it for my phone bill.

I have know my state legislature for many years, maybe more than I can remember so it is not unusual for us to discuss many item's.

You may be surprised how receptive them can be if you talk to them very polite as they will listen to what you have to say, just try once. They are not some evil monster who does not want to hear what you would like to see happen as we put them in their office.

Agree 100% anyfish2, I also get those e-mails from my rep quite a bit.

Nothing to do with too much time, I am concerned about how they vote as a citizen. One more note, I do not call and B', I call and express how I feel about these new law proposals.

Thought that is what one was suppose to do if they really cared about what goes on, maybe I have that all wrong according to you. My bad I guess, maybe if I sit back, say nothing and then complain why we did not get what the voters thought should happen it would work out better.

BINGO, we can all gripe on this forum or any other and it may not make a difference but if everyone contacted their state reps, maybe something could be done, much better chance of doing that and getting somewhere then here.

Don't know if this is been asked but do you have to take the test for every trailer w a boat you own? I have my fishing boat, hunting boat and a jet ski. I would assume I would have to take the test for each sticker unless they have a work around..............
What I don't understand is I take the test not my boat trailers. I can only pull one at a time why don't you get a certificate like your fishing license not decal for your trailer. Somebody who never took the test could be pulling it.

Causecit will be easier to spot by law enforcement especially if they see something illegal on boat/trailer, you will have claimed to know the rules and be subject to fine. All that said, I agree with you and beleive DNR should be piggy backing this as an add on for boat license or added option for fishing license as surcharge just like optional stamps now.
