Gopher Football 2014

I'll say it again, Nelson set this team back years...he was supposed to take over this team as THE dual threat QB for the next 3 years and it just didn't pan out that way. It happens.

What we're seeing now is a pretty good over-all Gopher team being led by two back-up QB's...frustrating!!

The Gophs are heading in the right direction...the team as a whole is better than what we've seen in quite some time.

All but one postion....again, frustrating.

He may not have been very good, but a better passing QB than Leidner AND have the chance to put two QB's in there that had some experience. It would take the pressure off a bit.

I hope Streavler plays this week and I hope they try a few more pass attempts, but if the running game is working I could care less if they have 300 rushing yards and 5 passing as long as they are moving the ball and scoring points. They really have no weapons to throw to anyway. Williams is dinged up. They have some Freshman they are high on, but were hoping to redshirt them. My guess is they pull the redshirt before the season is over at this rate.

It was way more than a nice win...it was a beat-down in the Big-House.

In front of 102K fans...the Gophers completely dominated a team that has kicked their a$$ for DECADES...no need to apologize for the state of Michigan football here. It was a beat down...plain and simple...in their house!

If Liedner can play the way he did today, combined with our run game, this could be a very fun season. Liedner is the key, obviously...he needs to keep showing promise in the passing game. He doesn't need to be great...he needs an OC who understands how to use him. I think that happened today.

Off weak now...time to get some people healthy.

The next 4 or so games are very winable...just sayin.

I like the way this TEAM is heading....

I don't care how bad Michigan is, it was very enjoyable watching the gophers dominate them! I took it in as best as I could, because it may not happen anytime soon eek

With that being said, what's with the death wish Brady Hoak had on his QB? The kid was getting beat up all game, then gets an obvious ankle injury in the 4th quarter, and Hoak leaves him in! Then when Gardner finally does go in (too late to make a difference), the offense showed a little spark.

I'm glad we have a bye this week. Let the players cherish this win a little. But also allow some time to pass so they don't suffer from a hangover in the northwestern game.

Back on the grid. Beautiful weekend of fishing in crane lake area and I missed this game. Sounds like they played well. Regardless of how bad Michigan is this year you still have to win in their house with 100000 plus fans. Tough place to play even considering the choke jobs the gophers have had over the last 20 years. Good win but bigger yet an important one. A signature win? Not really considering that Michigan is bad but one that should help them build confidence.

No need to downplay the victory, but also no need to hype it. It was a road-win against against a traditional Big Ten powerhouse. We could have gone in and lost. RRR, Limit, and others would have said 'same old Gophers.' That didn't happen. What did happen is the Gophers won. I'm proud of them and looking forward to more wins. They have a pretty good defense even with all of the injuries along the Dline and a very good running game. We'll see what the coaches can do with a non-existent WR corps and marginal QBs. Obviously those are top recruiting priorities.
