I've been using the Kahtoola Microspikes for 2 years now and love them. Before that I swore by Stabilicers, I can tell you there is no comparison between the two... love my Microspikes

Insulated Neos overshoes do it for me. The ones I wear in the Arctic Circle everyday for work are great. Search Explorer STABILicers Mid, Black.

Wear over your regular insulated hunting boots. Just slip off in order to drive back home. Ice studs built in so no slipping. I wear these in temps to -60 up here near Deadhorse AK over my Chippewa Arctic 50 work boots everyday.

I had a pair of the Arctic Spurs too and they worked great. Problem is I can't find them anymore. Tried looking on line for them and all I can find is sites that say they are out of stock so I don't think that they are made anymore.

I have the ice trekker diamond ones. I love them. The first set I bought was a large size and the rubber by the toe broke the first time. I have Irish setter boots that have a "king toe" that is very wide for thick socks. My boots were on the high end for what the large size is compatible for. I exchanged them for a Xtra large size and havent had problems with breaking or them being to loose. Bring your boots to try whatever brand you decide to buy. Make sure they aren't to tight or to loose. i passed on the kahtoolas because I wanted to be able to just leave them on my boots since I really only wear that pair for ice fishing. And I can drive with the ice trekkers on. One less thing to do before hitting the ice.

I have had a set of STABILicer's from 32 North and they are going on 6 years old. They use to be a sponsor on HSO here and they are hands down the best cleats for me ever. These are not cheap but they are a very high quality cleat.

Not sure what could even be made better on these cleats.

Not the cheapo rubber bungee type.

I cant find cleats for my size 15 ice kings

so I drilled in some self tapping hex head screws. Works great but I do lose a few unlike losing at least a set or two a year of the cheap rubber onesThe screws aren't long enough to cause leaks.

This is what I use too, the heavy duty ones, and I really like them over the cheaper ones. Go on easy, great traction, not cumbersome walking like you might think. I do have to tighten them a bit if wearing them for a long time, but that is easy one strap pull and then tightened up quick.
