Muddy Water Pike Lure?

Recommended Posts

The old tried and true red and white daredevil would be a good choice. My go to for that sort of thing for the past 35 years or so would be a Mepps Aglia with a bucktail and a brass number 5 blade.

By "spinner bait" I think they were referring to a "safety pin" type tandem bait like this.

only with orange blades and a black skirt.

This one was 6.29 at a well known retailer

I wish all spinner baits had the closed loop on the end. if you are using a leader an there isn't a closed loop... expect troubles.

For those spinner baits; just slide a pc. of plastic/rubber tubing over the loop. This will keep your leader from sliding down and fouling the lure.

Cheated a bit today, and soaked a sucker down by Red Wing. Haven't done this in years.

Water was dirty, lots of debris floating around. Ended up with a 38" Pike. Was fun landing it from a pier, without the help of a net.....
