Back to the topic. Not impressed at all with that effort. They are playing hard to not get beat by 4 or more goals. You can clearly see that every wild player has little confidence in there teammates or themselves. Flipping the puck out of the zone is not a f-ing breakout. And would it kill Yeo or this team to show some freakin passion out there! Crawford is dishing out the rebounds but the wild aren't any where near the net. Hockey is a game of inches and the wild are several feet off right now!

I am thinking the Wild will win one at home and then go quietly in the night at Chicago in game 5 just in time for fishing season. I don't know how many times I have yelled at the TV begging the Wild to "Just hit the net" I swear they must lead the league in missed shots on goal....

I just wish they would shoot the dang puck when on the power play. Seems no one wants to take the shot. And would somebody please throw a big hit on any Hawks player mad

Wild are a finesse team but Chicago is a better finesse team. Probably a good thing I fell asleep at the start of the third but I thought the Wild played pretty good for the first 2 periods.

We really need Pominville to have a chance against these guys. That will make our third line much more offensive and give us a chance. Seto, Cullen and Zucker seemed to be generating the most offense while I was watching but I didn't think our third line did much.

One player shouldn't matter that much but Chicago probably has the best all around first line in hockey. They can both shutdown and create a lot of offense.

I want to see the Wild extend it to 5 games at least. At a minimum I think Harding and Scandella have looked pretty good considering how little they played up in the bigs.

Today is a must win IMO. If they lose today, why would they fight in game 4? Lots of $$ spent for a 4 game sweep!

Can anyone tell me if our top line has scored a goal or anyone even have a point on that line? I don't think we do. Time for those guys to step up. The Cullen - Seto line is carrying this team right now!

If this one gets bad I'll head out to the garage and continue to get the boat ready I guess. (Maybe the Twins or the NASCAR race will be exciting)

Yep, that top line has been getting destroyed. Koivu can not win a face off, and is spent 8 minutes in the box last game. We need some puck control down low out of them. Cullen's line just keep doing what they are doing, they have been fun to watch.

Clutterbuck sure did his best Vikings impersonation. That was one of the dumbest things i've ever seen. He just tries to tackle Toews instead of getting of for a change they were behind on in the first place? Just stupid.

Was that the Vikings patented prevent defense?

Koivu is overpaid. Show just a glimmer of fire.

I understand playing a bit more D in the last few minutes but they went away from what got them the lead and played D for close to half the 3rd period. It was just a matter of time before the Blackhawks would score as we left them im our end way too much.

Nice that Zucker got rewarded with the early OT goal. He's been a nice surprise in this series. I won't comment on how we let them back into the game late though.

Pominville making any progress yet? I feel like we need more depth to take this thing deeper.

Cullens line is hot. Speed on the forecheck, attacking and cycling the puck. Great effort by that line. The D still needs help. Harding is playing better then I expected. I hope he can't keep it going and wins this series for everything he has been going through.

Top line stepped up, Cullen's line continued to play good and for the most part the D played good. I still cringe every time I see the Falk-Gilbert pairing out there.

Bouchard has been playing great in these playoffs. He has looked like his old self lately.

I think he felt ok and skated in one practice and the next morning the C symptoms were back so I don't know that we will see him any time soon. Maybe a game 6 or 7 if we make it that far.

Yea the Cullen line makes running the 1-2-2 look perfect. Two men on the puck one high to pinch the strong or weak side, or in Zuckers case making himself available after reading the play and pounding that puck in for the win!

    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
