Meat Sales

Soak that thing in water overnight before you make bacon out of it. They put that salt solution in them which doesn't allow your cure to work properly.

I've done this with the "enhanced" pork and it seems to work.

Thanks. Thats a good tip.

I knew this was out there somewhere, but the search function here sucks.

Try the search feature on the left instead of the top one. MUCH better!

Rainbow has Bone In Butts for .99 lb this Thursday - Saturday only. Limit one.

Thanks for that! I'll be grabbing a few (1 at a time, of course!).

Although I have 2 in the freezer, picked one up today. They average 6-8 lbs. All Natural. Nice Butts. Will be grabbing more before Saturday.

They are enhanced, and I grabbed the one with the smallest fat cap and it was sized right in the middle of the offerings. I'll be picking up a couple more today.

The one I picked up yesterday and the one today in Brooklyn Park are Hormel Natural Choice, 100% natural, no artificial ingredients. I wonder if they are putting different ones out at differnt stores?

Always pick up a few of those turkey breasts when they go on sale. I'll try to grab a few on the way home tonight.

$1.88 is a good price for that pork loin.

shortage of rib sales lately.... I need some ribs, only one rack left in the freezer.

Labor Day's coming. Maybe we'll see BB's for $1.99 again. smile

Hormel Natural Choice spare ribs on sale at Marketplace Foods also for 1.97# for whole racks. Have been getting the always tender Hormel at Target and haven't tried these ones yet.

the ones at target have been super for me. I thaw then rinse very good and I use my own rub with zero salt. 25 racks or so in the last year and all were dandy. 15 in the freezer again. smile 1.97 is sweet where ever they come from.
