There is always fishable open water around here but the same cannot be said for ice. Move the open water back where it belongs, on top.

I get depressed when the Ice forum moves to the top in the fall. I've been done ice fishing for weeks and happy to move into summer.

Looking at the forcast, we have one more week of winter and it is going to be 70's almost every day for that week. Crazy.

That's the problem right there. Those hard water guys are pretty serious about their sport. It's always tough to bump them when they've got us beat 2 to 1.

DonBo, I think that's because most open water related topics often get discussed in other forums. Add in the 50+ viewers in the boats and motors forums and you have pretty much evened things up, and there's quite a few more forums that I would consider mostly related to open water.

Ice is off Lake Marion in Lakeville and Crystal in Burnsville

Peltier and Centerville both have ice still. Looks like they will for the next few days at least.

Ice is half gone on Eagle in maple grove and disappearing fast on Medicine.

I can't believe there is still ice here in big lake. I did see someone and his kid out ice fishing on mitchell today. my guess is this ice will be gone by tuesday, I hope. take it to the top!

Yup, it's time.

The ice is completely off the river north of the Sartell dam...some big ice chunks still floating down, but I'll have line out tomorrow night hoping for a catfish or two!

Just checked a few on my way home this afternoon. Looks like the lakes near me went off last night or this morning.

Brought the boat home to put anchor,trolling motor, winshield ect... on check wheel bearings and oil levels all ready to go just need to see this on the top lol then it will really feel like spring.

Yup, the lakes here around St Cloud are looking pretty watery....now it's DEFINITELY time.
