Your last meal...

Recommended Posts

Pretty simple, yet so hard to choose just one. Lets hear what some of your guys' last meal would be. Knock on wood that none of us have to REALLY choose one day. eek

Mine would be.....see I told you it wouldnt be that easy... grin

A nice 2" thick Porterhouse, rare of course

Boiled potatoes, with a slab of butter the size of texas

Fresh sweet corn, again with the excessive amount of butter

An ice cold Coors to wash it all down

And a big slice of my grandmas bread pudding with the caramel sauce for dessert

Simple yet so delicious.

For the appetizer a few nice shrimp with a little cocktail sauce, a couple smoked deviled eggs and a half glass of Pinot Noir. Then that porterhouse grilled a little past rare with onions and shrooms fried in butter piled on top with a little Montreal seasoning. A frosty mug of Sam Adams Boston Lager, and some carrots with brown sugar sauce. For desert a nice large piece of carmel apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

A full rack of BBQ ribs, french fries, coleslaw, calico beans, garlic cheese bread. A gallon of 1919 rootbeer a caramel apple pie and a pecan pie both with homemade vanilla ice cream. And for dessert a 12 pack of Lienie's Classic Amber and a can of Kodiak - even though I quit three years ago, but it is my last meal right. smile

Appetizer: Fresh Crab Cakes flown in from San Fransico or Boston. Cold Tap Beer.

Soup: 1 cup of Split Pea with Ham; 1 cup of Beer Cheese & Broccoli.

Salad: Skip it cause I ate too much soup.

Main Course: Slow Roasted, Prime Cut, Garlic Rib Roast; 3 Fresh Pan Fried Diver Scallops, Cheesy Potato Casserole, Fresh Steamed Green Beans with Fried Apple Smoked Bacon, Onion. A big Slice of Texas Toast.

Drink: Large glass of ice cold milk.

Dessert: Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfait.

A large Broadway Special Pizza would be a very close second.

rouladen, real potato dumplings, sweet and sour red cabbage, german sourkraut with bacon and the greatest gravy in the world from the rouladen dumped all over everything. for desert-big cup of the gravy. good luck.

RH - I would love to try my hand at making that meal on a cold, snowy Saturday up at the lake. Other than Schnitzel, I've done very little German cooking, but REALLY enjoy the kind of food you posted for your meal.

My guess is you have probably posted these recipes somewhere here, but would sure like to try whatever ones you can share. Not to highjack the thread, if I give you my email, could you send some over?

anything i can sit down & enjoy with my family, but preferably the superior meal at ichiban's. start with a cucumber salad, chicken liver appetizer, chicken fried rice, chicken, shrimp, scallops, lobster tail, & filet all grilled on a hibachi. washed down with a surley darkness (or 15) and for desert as much cheesecake as i can choke down & to top it off a can of kodiak that stays in til the ax drops. ya, that'll do!!!

Grilled scallops, 2 lb lobster tail, 6 oz bacon wrapped tenderloin with sautéed morel mushrooms. Throw in some somee snow crab legs too. Now I got to think about what I would have for the main course and dessert! I know I would have an ice cold new castle for one of the beverages too.

Fishuhalik - The whole can of kodiak? grin

I would go for a deep dish from Gino's East with everything on it, a keg of Surly Furious, and to top it off for desert...homemade brownies right out of the oven, just a little over done. I spose I'd go for a little copenhagen to take the edge off.
