They looked similar enough to me that I didn't bother researching any farther.

They both are dual core chips running at 1.2Ghz. I'm slightly curious if they are the same chip or not, but not curious enough to look for myself. The point being that the Razr is an overclocked 1Ghz chip. If the Maxx is a different chip rated at 1.2Ghz it could be possible to overclock it yourself, making it faster.

But as I said. I didn't care to look.

Btw, used my Razr yesterday to stream audio all day at work without a charge, on 3G. It was down to 30% battery at the end of the day.

This friday is going to be a pretty big day for Verizon customers, especially those looking to pick up the Motorola Droid 4. The device is going to be $199 on a 2-year contract. But hang on that’s not all big red has in store for you.

Verizon Wireless is bringing back their famous Buy-one-get-one free offer on their colorful lineup of Droid Razr phones, which include the Droid Razr Maxx. They are also bringing back the double data promotion so you can get 4GB of 4G LTE data for only $30 with any smartphone purchase. But look, that’s still not all Verizon has in store for us.

If you know someone that’s still hasn’t moved on to a smartphone, Verizon is giving out $30 giftcards in-store for those who are willing to leave their feature (dumb) phone behind and move in to 2012. Finally, if you have your eyes set on one of Verizon’s 4G Tablets, you can get $100 off with any smartphone purchase and a 2-year agreement.

Makes you wonder, can the other carriers out do Verizon with their Valentine’s day sales? These are some pretty great deals Verizon’s got going starting this Friday. So who’s running out to pick up the Motorola Droid 4? Or are you waiting on the Droid 4 Maxx?

I wonder if you're only due for one upgrade, if you can still go for the buy one get one free Maxx??

Both phones must sign a new 2 year contact.

I only have 1 line due for upgrade, but I've been semi successful in the past upgrading both mine and my wife's with a little persuasion when these BOGO's come along.

I might give it the old college try tomorrow.

I only have one as well.

However, if I could get both lines upgraded, then sell the second Maxx on "the Bay", I could actually come out money ahead.

Just reactivate the wife's X2.

Hmmm, multiple sources have reported the BOGO deal. Maybe it goes live later today or something.

Starting Friday (yes, the same day that the DROID 4 goes on sale), Verizon will re-launch their “Double Data” promo for 4G LTE devices. As long as you purchase a new LTE device and add on at minimum a $30 data package, Big Red will double your data amount for the same price. Their 2GB, 5GB, and 10GB plans will turn into 4GB, 10GB, and 20GB plans without a jump in price. No time frame details were given to us, but this promo won’t last forever. The last time VZW introduced “Double Data,” customers were able to double up from early November to mid-January.

In related news, a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO) deal will go live that same day for the DROID RAZR and the RAZR MAXX. Priced at $199 and $299 respectively, this will be one of the better deals we have seen from Verizon in a long time. The RAZR MAXX is all of 3 weeks old and at least in our minds, is one of the top Android smartphones ever (our full review). Whether you are a new or existing customer, you may want to consider jumping into action on Friday.

Yep, I googled bogo Razr Maxx and there were multiple places reporting like you said, but when I went to Verizon's HSOforum, and rep, both said no.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to drive down to Rosedale today on the off chance it's going on.

It WILL give me a good excuse as to not cut wood this morning until it warms up a bit.

Yes I just chatted with a Rep and got the same answer. There must have been some sort of error or miscommunication in the press release because all the biggest electronic and gadget HSOforum are reporting all the same thing.

The BOGO deal is listed in the Valentines Day special, but the Maxx is omitted. frown

I know there are some apple haters on here but the new iPhone should be out next month. I'm sure it will be on Verizon's LTE network. My contract is up and I'll be switching to the new iPhone from my Droid X this spring. New iPads are coming in March too.

I'm not convinced that the I5 will be LTE capable.

“There's one thing I'm pretty sure of: the iPhone 5, or whatever it will be called, won't have 4G LTE. Now, AT&T is going to call it 4G, just you wait. But it won't have LTE,” said PC Mag’s Sascha Segan.

“Apple has always prioritized slim elegance over network speed, and the company is definitely concerned about battery life. Sticking with a high-speed HSPA network rather than nascent LTE lets Apple keep its phone slender and running all day,” Segan added.

Confirmed. Maxx IS BOGO. HOWEVER, two things. Make sure you call your store, Roseville doss NOT have any. Also, there is NO budging on dates.

I only have one line available for upgrade so they would not give me the BOGO.

If I dropped a line, then re-added a line, I could do it.

I already have 5 people on my plan, and if I put my dad on his own plan then added a line, I could do the BOGO.

I need an old flip phone for my kid, or else I'm back to an extra $30 for a new plan for my dad plus an extra $30 / month for data for a smart phone for the 10 year old.

The BOGO ain't worth that.

So, if I only want to spend $100.00 and don't need 2 phones, is this my best choice-with Verizons sale going on!

At Target Stores.

Motorola - DROID RAZR 4G Mobile Phone with 32GB Memory - Black (Verizon Wireless) $149.00, plus 50.00 Target gift card?
