CJH
Nice audition for Flynn, he'll get a big check somewhere next year. Yep, people thought he played well against the Pats last year. He definitely played his way into a higher pay grade on the open market. Congrats to him, seems like a good kid!!I couldn't get the game on TV, but saw his INT on NFL Redzone and thought they were going to get killed. I worked on house projects and flipped it on afterwards, and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the score and him throw the 40 yarder to James Jones. I always thought he was a solid backup, but who would have thunk it! They get a buy for the first round of the playoffs and hopefully can get fairly healthy. Scott M
First playoff test will be the New York Football Giants. They are probably the one team that can slow the game down by running the ball, moving the chains, keep Rodgers off the field, and when he's out there, lay some wood on him. I can't see Alex Smith and San Fran beating the Pack and I think Green Bay wins a shootout with New Orleans at home. In a Super Bowl, I don't think the AFC has a team that can do what the Giants have the potential to do.Will be a great game next week. CJH
Yep, Sunday @ 3:30. Giants will be tough, however I think that generally once you get to this point of the playoffs, anybody can beat anybody. Have to bring it every game from here on out!!The Giants don't run the ball as well as they used to. Go look at the Giant's RB stats compared to Grant/Starks and they aren't that different, other than TD's. Which isn't a surprise, considering the Pack throw the ball in the Redzone usually, or give it to Kuhn. Here are the Stats:Team LeadersNEW YORK GIANTS Passing Cmp Att Yds TDsEli Manning 359 589 4933 29Rushing Car Yds Avg TDsAhmad Bradshaw 171 659 3.9 9Brandon Jacobs 152 571 3.8 7Receiving Rec Yds Avg TDsVictor Cruz 82 1536 18.7 9Hakeem Nicks 76 1192 15.7 7Complete StatsGREEN BAY PACKERS Passing Cmp Att Yds TDsAaron Rodgers 343 502 4643 45Matt Flynn 33 49 518 6Rushing Car Yds Avg TDsJames Starks 133 578 4.3 1Ryan Grant 134 559 4.2 2Receiving Rec Yds Avg TDsJordy Nelson 68 1263 18.6 15Greg Jennings 67 949 14.2
GatorBait
anybody can beat anybody.Yep, just look at what Tebow and his team just did...But, I have faith the Pack will prevail. It's a matter of mindset and who wants it more. Right now, I believe the Green n Gold cannot be beat at home. It's gonna be chilly in Lambeau on Sunday...can't wait to freeze my buns off. mrklean
depends on what giants team shows up the team that played yesterday or the team that lost twice to the skins this year
SkunkedAgain
I was at the NFC Championship game at Lambeau in 2007 versus the Giants. The weather certainly doesn't bother them. On a day-to-day basis they are an inferior team to the Packers, but have the ability to play up to a championship level. You never know what you'll get out of the Giants - an improbably Super Bowl run or a Eli Manning 6INT face plant.I'm just hoping that Green Bay advances to the championship game because I'd love to watch another game against the Saints or a matchup against the 49ers. Scott M
Sad day in Green Bay:GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A body pulled from a river in Oshkosh, Wis., Monday has been positively identified as that of 21-year-old Michael Philbin, son of Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, a source close to the family tells ESPN.Oshkosh police have yet to release the identity of the body. The Packers, who are preparing for Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game game against the Giants, canceled player availability Monday.Police have been searching for Michael Philbin since Sunday evening. He disappeared at about 2 a.m. Sunday after an outing with friends in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus area, about 50 miles from Green Bay.Joe Philbin spent Monday in Oshkosh, where divers recovered the body of a man between the ages of 20 and 25 from the Fox River in late afternoon after a security guard reported hearing cries for help from someone on the ice. Oshkosh police said foul play was not suspected, but the man's name was being withheld until his family is notified.Michael Philbin is the second-oldest of six children to Joe Philbin and his wife, Diane."The Philbin family's obviously going through a tough time right now, and as we always have, we're a family-first philosophy with our organization, with our program," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the day. "So we're supporting Joe and his family the best we can, and we're holding out hope that this comes to a positive conclusion."The offensive-minded McCarthy calls his own plays and has a hands-on role with game planning, but Philbin's behind-the-scenes detail work with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the offense would not be unnoticed. McCarthy said he has contingency plans in place to prepare for Sunday's game if Philbin remains away from the team."We're prepared to do whatever we need to do as a staff to make sure our team's ready to go," McCarthy said, brushing aside a question about what the Packers would be missing if it did not have Philbin's input this week. "We'll be ready to go."Packers players took to Twitter with supportive messages."As children we all have to someday say goodbye to our parents, but a parent should never have to say goodbye to their child," said offensive lineman T.J. Lang, whose father, Thomas, died last week.Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji wrote that "life is too short.""Live in the present," he tweeted.Joe Philbin has been with the Packers since 2003 and has been the team's offensive coordinator since 2007. He interviewed for the Miami Dolphins' vacant head coaching job last week.*******************RIP Michael Philbin.

harvey lee
If it would not have been for 2 very bad calls, the Pack would have really took it in the chin. The Pack has a very good team but the Giants do too.

simple1
Almost... The Giants/Cowboys game is huge. If the Giants get in the playoffs, they are the only team that will be able to beat the Packers. But, there is no way the Giants get by the Saints without a miracle. Nobody else can travel to Green Bay and get a win. The Saints, Falcons, 49rs, and Lions all get smoked in Green Bay. If the Giants make the playoffs, their biggest test will be getting past the Saints. If that happens, the Packers do not make the Super Bowl. Simple1 I thought the seeding would have us play the Saints first. And its nice SF took them out for us. Simple1
zepman
Nice call...defense is rearing it's head. Question is....can anyone come up with a game-plan to stop Brady? Pressure Brady and he falls like Rodgers....so close yet so far away.
