Best Spinning Rod for $100

Used primarily for walleye fishing, if you had $100 to spend on a spinning rod (no reel)what would you buy?

any of the store branded graphite rods will serve you well. ie: cabelas, scheels , gander, reeds...... high modulous(sp) IM8 or greater hope this helps

Id look into Shimano rods or the new st. croix eyecon line of rods.

+1 on the Compre, comes with fuji's too. Or a 6'6" fenwick hmx, which also has fuji guides.

Gander has a couple or real winners in the Ultimate Titanium Series well worth a hard look too. Very light and sensitive sticks, highly attractive rods, very well made.

I picked up an eyecon since I had a gift card to a certain store. I love how light it is. I don't think you could go wrong with an eyecon, smoothie or a compre.

I see a lot of folks recommending/promoting Smoothies. Where in northern MN can you put one in your hands? I have a hard time buying a rod I can't feel and balance with a reel.

Shorelunch they are from Hudson Wi. and a small 1 man show. Therefore they arent in many shops up North. Im trying to get them in shops in my area for Turk. If your ever in Duluth area e-mail me and you can jump in the boat and check try out mine.

I like smaller reels on my jigging rods and Im running a size 1000 shimano on mine but a 1500 would also do.

Tel ya what order one from Turk, if he has any left, and if ya dont like it I will buy it back from ya I could use another one.

St. Croix Triumph and put $30 back in your pocket. Or a Cabela's Fish Eagel II and keep $20. I have a few Gander rods and have been impressed with those. I found one on sale a few years ago for $20 and I love it.

If the whole $100 is burning a hole in your pocket go with a St. Croix Premier.

just to throw something out there that hasn't been brought up, i fished with a Abu Veritas that my buddy just got, and it was fantastic

compres are good, I feel like you can't go too wrong with whatever you pick

I just bought a 7' St. Croix Eyecon for $110, and hung a Pflueger Supreme XT on it. havent fish with it yet, but it feels good in hand!

I ended up going with the St. Croix Eyecon and paired it with a Shimano Sonora.

You can find Fenwick HMG rods for ~$100. Best value around in my opinion.
