What would your dream waterfowl hunt be?

Recommended Posts

My dream waterfowl hunt would be to take a whole fall off, and follow the migration from Nothern Canada, through the Midwest, and into the Gulf Coast. Especially rewarding would be to get to see and harvest one of each species of ducks in the Mississippi flyway. I would love to get some real late southern birds in full plumage, like a big Pintail with a really long tail, some colorful green-winged teal, and a cinnamon teal.

Id like to hunt in Mexico. Ive hunted SoCal and it was phenominal, but mexico looks REALLY good.

The hunt you had in Arkansas this fall looked like a good time. I would probably go with hunting in Arkansas.

Anywhere where my two boys are at my side hunting with me. One is 8 and is now shooting ducks...got three this year! The other is 4 and is anxiously waiting for the opportunity when he can shoot too. I dream of the years to come when these two can be sitting with me watching the ducks come in. There is nothing better than sharing that experience with them. That is my dream hunt!

Look up Argentina and Uraguay. Looks outrageously fun. Do MN opener with a guy that was in Argentina many years ago. The farmer didn't want them to quit shooting geese so the guides pulled out spotlights to keep on going. I saw pictures of the bed of a pickup heaped full. Have seen one lodge that includes in the price your first 2000 rounds. I thought it was a typo meant to be for a dove or pigeon hunt but it was confirmed elsewhere in the site. Pretty spectacular photo gallery.

The sun rises off the eastern horizon, burning the dew off the finely manicured grass. I spread bread crumbs around before settling into the leather seat of my truck. The geese come in, wave after wave. As I scan the birds through the scope, a small shimmer of light reflecting off the leg of a large bird catches my eye. I squeeze the trigger and a .177 pellet thunders down range. BOOM! Headshot. The other birds barely even react. I pump my gun 10 times, drop another .177 in the pipe and start scanning the flock again. I just need 3 more to fill up my call lanyard.

Now that's some dream huntin right there!

what? too soon?

My dream waterfowl hunt would be going after some roosters in a big slough smile Believe it or not those ring necks are amazing swimmers for not having webbed feet! Ive even seen them dive under water!

I would say my dream hunt would be like someone else said, my own property developed for waterfowl shooting side by side with my ol man

I usually have a least one dream hunt where everything works right and we end up shooting a fair amount of birds.

I dream of hunting and end up going to the same spots over and over again and I never leave minnesota
