Bass Whacker
Well it was little windy to head out on the lake today so I went out to the woods for the first hike of the season. It paid off with the first shed of the season and my first public land find ever. It was a fresh drop with in the last few days.
hightower
Finally found one side, (only 2 months of looking) hoping the other half is not so difficult.

AntlerHandler
Nice job fellas, we just got a big dumping of snow in the Bemidji, MN area so my shed hunting plans have been put on hold for a few weeks. You can bet that once those hills start opening up I'll be out there though! Keep up the good work.
fr0sty
Well, it looks like this weekends weather is going to mess up my first chance to take the dog out looking for sheds. Was planning a sunday trip to our area, but that may be off due to the snow a'comin'. Dang it. Oh well, maybe President's day...
Musky Buck
I'd guess frosty about 50% of them will be shed near presidents day, the rest shortly after till mid-march, hope you find a pickup load of them. My t-cam 2 years ago and prior had about 1/2 shed by March 4th, but by March 15th it was near 9 out of 10 on my log of t-cam photo's. Good luck and yes this weather will mess it up, of course. matchset
My t-cam 2 years ago and prior had about 1/2 shed by March 4th IF evey buck was a half-rack that would be pretty funny to see!
fr0sty
Well, I decided to head up today and beat the weather. Covered a lot of trails, but only found one (my first). I was on our land north of musky buck's and was heading back what I thought was south east. Well, I ended up way off course. I must have been by your camera once, because the trees looked similar to the tcam pic you mailed me of the buck I shot this year. Anyway, good thing I got lost. I was looking down, concentrating on finding my boot track when I stumbled on this one. I didn't pick it up though, had the dog assist It was about smack dab in the middle of the 3rd island. Dang easy to get twisted around in there!

james_walleye
Got back from Florida yesterday. Checked my camera this morning. Had pics of all 5 of the big bucks I've been watching in the past 2 days. All carrying full gear.
Bass Whacker
Well the swamps finally froze up enough to put some miles on, I only fell through twice today. I put on alot of miles, but it sure was worth it. This was my largest shed to date with G2's just a hair short of 10".
Sinker
Nice find.
matchset
This post comes straight from the pages of "Shed Hunting for Dummies" it was almost too easy finding these sheds, a semi truck size pile of grain adjacent to some timber durrrrr
woodsmaven
Here's one I found in January. Nothin to brag about, but I'm glad to find one so early. Must've fallen off from the impact of jumping the fallen tree it was next to. Fifteen yards from one of my stands!
fr0sty
My wife and I took the dog out to some local public land for exercise and hopefully to find some sheds. We were down by the Mississippi in some low ground. The sun was out and it was a beautiful day until I fell through the ice. I went all the way up to little Jimmy and the Twins, if you know what I mean. It was kind of scary. My knee boots were stuck in the muck. I though I may have to ditch them, assuming I could get out without more ice breaking away. I had vision of Bear Griles having to strip my clothes off and roll around in the snow. I thankfully got out on my first try and neither the wife or dog went in too. My legs were shaking like crazy from the cold water. It was hard to pull by boots off once on land. Finally pulled them off and dumped the water out. We bee lined it back to the truck, but now all I could think of was falling in again. It was only a 10 minute or so walk back, so it didn't take long to get back. I'm sure I looked quite the site stripping my pants and socks off in the parking lot. I asked my wife to try her best to not get us pulled over on the way home. Imagine trying to explain to the police why I was sitting there in my drawers Anyway, be careful out there! Scott M
If it's bigger than 3 MB, you'll have to use another host site. Try photobucket, flickr, imageshack etc.

Musky Buck
Glad you got out frosty, be careful is right, in our 20's frosty we would've wallowed like a bull elk in that muck, not so much anymore, be careful of any springfed like swamp, frosty can agree with that, or river/etc. Need this snow to recede some back to what it was awhile back, good luck guys and frosty did you have to worry about your dog falling through where you may not be able to reach him ? fr0sty
Well, the dog was over water, but she only weighs 45 lbs or so. I was worried though that she would fall through. Thankfully she didn't.I'm tempted to hit the swamp again this weekend, but not sure. Snow is likely too deep.
