lutzy
I didn’t come up with this myself I “borrowed” it from a post from last December from Riich (credit where credit is due). That is actually how I found this site. I googled atv auger holder and his post came up. I changed some things to work better with my strikemaster (he had a jiffy). The strikemaster has rubber feet to rest on but I added the little post to give it extra support. I like this better than other things on the market because it supports the head and most others don’t. The other thing I changed is I added the toggle clamps. This way no need for bungees. Just flip two levers and it is very very secure. The hooks on the toggles, the big u bolt supports, and the little support for the head were all dipped in plasti dip to give a nice rubbery coating so no damage to the auger at all. I used four u bolts to hold the entire thing to the front rack, they were also dipped in plasti dip so no scratching the rack. Painted everything else black to match the rest of the cat and good to go. Hope this gives others some ideas. This is my entire setup. BRING ON THE ICE!!!!! LakeDocktor
Nice job Lutzy! How secure do the toggle clamps latch? I'm sure they will work great and don't want to rain on your parade, but could they possibly come undone on rough terrain going across the lake? lutzy
Nice job Lutzy! How secure do the toggle clamps latch? I'm sure they will work great and don't want to rain on your parade, but could they possibly come undone on rough terrain going across the lake? I know what you mean but it would be pretty hard. I put a big piece of plate steel about 4" square under each one on the bottom side of the platform. Then I bolted through that. What that did was allow me to adjust them really tight on the auger without pulling the bolts through the wood. I don't think it is going anywhere but I do appreiciate all suggestions and concerns. It only makes our ideas better.

lutzy
Nice job on the auger rack. Where did you get the rear rack from? The back rack that fits in the 2" hich I got at FF. Clearance, marked down from $80 to $50. The one on 81 I think it is Brooklyn Park was the only one in the TC that had any left, 5. The box that fits in it I made. CAMAN
Awesome job man! One thing I will recommend is to add a block of some sort to prevent the auger from racking back and forth. Those toggle clamps are awesome when all the pressure is vertical but add any amount of side pressure and they bend and lose clamping pressure. Otherwise good luck with it this winter, very ingenious solution and great craftsmanship.
stumper
Dont look like it would be able to rock at all with it resting in the cradles. Nice work!! I will post pics of mine soon.

clownshack
Something I whipped up in 20 min the other night. The Ice Gators are pretty top heavy and I was sick of the holder I had.
