Antero
What are we to make of this? Should we take it seriously? He did not deny it, he only said "I will not comment".
spearchucker
Who cares? Did he break any laws? My guess is that this is true, but who cares besides his wife?

fishersofmen
I think its definetely him in the voice mail. Has nothing to do with football its between him and his wife. Nobody is perfect. To be honest I'm getting tired of all these beautiful women seducing innocent men.
Steve Foss
He's a pro football player, not a pro husband.
Shack
I have no clue if this is bogus or not, but Deadspin almost goes out of their way to make it look bogus. The VM's just sound like a southern guy and 93x said the pictures do not even show his face. Just some marks and a wristwatch that "proves" it is Favre. Then only witness is not the most credible and won't even go on record. Then the release of the story and updates seem to revolve around/right after big changes happen to the Vikes If anyone actually cared, they might buy it? Lame IMO. spearchucker
The audio could be an innocent conversation about anything that was edited to sound darning in the context that it was presented in. I guess I don't care as long as he can throw a football and didn't physically assault her. I don't see what the crime is.
bucketmouth64
I posted this about Favre about month ago.http://www.hotspotoutdoors.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2327783/Favre_NY_Jet_scandal#Post2327783
nofishfisherman
I'm not sure what to think on this. For sure I don't think it has anything to do with football so I'm not sure why the NFL is investigating. In infidelity is against the NFL code of conduct I doubt that any NFL team could fill a squad of players. If he did it then its an issue between Favre and his wife (wouldn't want to be in his shoes in that case). My issue with the entire thing is the source or lack of a source. When the only way to obtain material for a story is to purchase it then it immediately becomes suspect in my book. Someone was trying to make a buck and thats obvious. The question is did someone fabricate the entire thing in order to make some money or did someone get lucky and stumble across the evidence and decide to make some money? The phone call sure sounds like Favre but really the phone calls are pretty harmless. All the other pieces of evidence could have come from anywhere and very easily could be fake. Besides does Favre strike anyone else to be a MySpace type of guy? That part stood out to me right away. I just don't see Favre spending time on MySpace for any reason.

pinkfloyd4ever
guilty, he said I will not comment, he never makes concrete statements like that. If he had said "maybe I did, maybe I didn't" then he would be innocent
Steve Foss
To the media: Who gives a ****? To the players: Shut up and play. To the spouses: If the other spouse won't look you in the eye, kick them out on their arse and ask questions later.

zamboni
We all heard about this over the summer, like Bucketmouth said- he posted it. You guys haven't noticed the timing of this? We are playing the same team the woman worked for- where I come from we call it "stirring the pot" pretty sure you call it the same.
flipper
It's all about increasing the viewership for the game. Professional football is becoming more like pro wrestling all the time. What a joke.
Antero
Altho any publicity is good publicity in some circles, I for one highly doubt the NFL is looking for this. It is absurd to think the NFL is encouraging this.
Jim Almquist
Altho any publicity is good publicity in some circles, I for one highly doubt the NFL is looking for this. It is absurd to think the NFL is encouraging this. I would be willing to bet that ESPN really loves the story line. They are the ones with the most to gain and seem to be willing to do anything to draw attention to themselves.
Antero
Agreed, they most likey love it. Any pub is good for them, not so much for the NFL tho.
196thDLR
The job of the media is to sell it's stories to the public, also, everybody would like their 15 minutes of fame. The timing of this re-release seems to be more than a bit suspicous.
JBMasterAngler
I think rex ryan planned this whole thing once the vikes traded for moss, knowing they can't win the game now, he had to sidetrack them somehow.
Antero
What about the Vikes code of conduct? The code is a definition of the character the Wilf family strives to instill in the organization,In a letter to players, coaches and staff, Zygi Wilf and his brother, team president Mark Wilf, described the document as the "written expression of the class, dignity and integrity that we strive to maintain in our business dealings, and the class, dignity and integrity we expect from our players, coaches and staff." Still, it very clearly warns against extracurricular misbehavior. "If you go out and do something that you would not want to do in front of your spouses or your parents or your kids and it becomes public," Warren said, "there is going to be some ramification." fishersofmen
"NBC Sports reported Saturday that Sterger has agreed to cooperate with the NFL investigation but has expressed no interest in pursuing the matter herself."If the NFL isn't encouraging it then why don't they let it go! Sturger has told the NFL she wants nothing to do with this as it sais here. If the woman involved wants nothing persued and the only reason this has surfaced at all is because some shmuck recieved a big pay day then whats the deal?? It would be one thing if Sterger was asking for help in the matter saying she was sexually harrassed. However it is just the oposite. The NFL should be ashamed of themselves. (I'm pretty sure the league knows if they get their hands wet in this it will only boost their ratings. They obviously are past the point of being concerned about "image".)
