Just saw an epsiode of Diners, Drive ins, and Dives that did a segment on Gordy's Hi Hat .....Looks fantastic...Never been there...Looks like a worthwhile stop!!

They have a great fish sandwich and I also love there onion rings. I only wish that they had a horseradish based dipping sauce to go along with them.

I saw that last night also. Have to love Gordy's. I never new they made there own patties and onion rings. The rings are pretty good!

Was there in June and it packed. Great fish and burgers and

they keep it very clean. It is a must stop when in the Duluth

area.

for at least 75 trips,, always passed by and did the Subway deal or whatever. My buddy had been their before,, and we were in no hurry so we stopped. WORTH THE WAIT!!!! GREAT FOOD!!!

Gordy's is great. Just keep in mind that they only take cash but it's well worth it. Trying to stop there during the lunch or dinner rush on a summer Sunday is kinda foolish though.

I grew up in Saginaw about 15 minutes from Gordy's and remember eating there every summer. The onion rings have to be the best. I hope to stop the next trip to Duluth.

Good to see a Mom and Pop and a family business thrive for all of these years, going head to head against the corporate food chains. Not many like Gordy's around anymore. I hope it's there for a long, long time.

We stopped for lunch on our way to Temperance River State Park on Sunday. I had the fish sandwich. It was awesome...and huge! The place was packed. Thanks for the recommendation.

Gordy's closed on the 19th of September

The warming shack is open year round.

I've wanted to stop by there many times on my way back from Rainy Lake, but the place is always packed! It doesn't seem to matter what day or what time, the place seems to be very very busy.

Maybe I should stop by anyway. Does it take long to get your food? I'll have to find somewhere else to park, as I don't think there is ever room to pull in the parking lot with a large truck and 19 ft boat.

The parking lot is really pretty big and even with a rig your size you should be able to find a spot to park. While I would not consider it fast food because everything is cooked once your order is placed it is not all that bad of a wait. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes depending on the size of the crowd. My personal favorite is the fish sandwich with a side of onion rings. The fish is dipped that day as well as the onion rings and between the both of them you should be able to skip the next meal

Be careful because it could make for a very long drive home

Is the warming house any good? Never stopped in there yet, usually give up the gordy's when they close for the winter. Thought about last weekend but we stopped at sammy pizza instead, my dads from lakeside and cant resist sammy's.

The Warming House is more of a soup and sandwich/coffee shop.

I think you made the right choice by hitting Sammy's

One way or another we always stop in cloquet and get our grease fix on the way up north. That and we seem to always stop at the lemon tree to stock " cabin suplies".

Lemon Tree is OK but Super One LS usually has better prices on "cabin supplies"

When you are going through town and go past Lemon Tree/ Outdoor Advantage you will have mostly woods on your left and at the end of the woods will be the block plant and right next to that is the armory. You would make a left like you are going to the block plant and that is a frontage road. It is much quicker then going to the intersection of 33 and Big Lake road if you want to enter the shopping center or hit McDonald's or Pizza Hut.
