corncob
A number of you are high on swim jigs.....what brand do yu reccomend?....Ive checked numerous sites, but, need help.
mainbutter
to be perfectly honest, they are all good.I would personally go with a hand-tied and painted swim jig from someone's small online business over anything commercial from gander mtn or cabelas. Deitz Dittrich
As said, there are a lot of good ones out there.. I use Outkast Swim Jigs, 1/4 oz, in Sunfish color most of the time.
TR21HP
A second on the Outkast jig as well as All Terrain Jigs in 1/4. 3/8 or 1/2 depending on the conditions.
Ralph Wiggum
Outkast, Super K -- like them both.

Craigums
I like the Outkast Swim Jigs, Ive also ordered some Brovarneys, I really like those alot too... I almost exclusively use a grub trailer
zepman
I like the All-Terrain swim jigs the best...just seem to have a better hook-up ratio with these and they seem to swim better coming thru the water with a larger profile trailer which I like to use.Rage Craws are my favorite trailer and I'll throw all colors and sizes depending on the water I'm fishing. RK
Hiya - Outkast, and Brovarney. Like the hooks on both of them.A lot of the mass market "swim jigs" made by larger companies have heavy flipping jig hooks and heavy weed guards, neither of which I can stand. Regardless of brand, look for a light wire hook and light weedguard - IMHO...Cheers,Rob Kimm
NTW
I've used Outkast and just ordered from Gregg at Super K last week. I am looking forward to trying those. They are hand tied and the colors look great.

DavidCindrich
Super K swim jigs by Super K Fishing. All jigs are hand tied, hand painted and weed guards hand glued and made by one person. The quality is amazing and custom colors upon request.

YUM
I have used swim jigs on a limited basis, have caught fish on them; however, I don’t have a terrible amount of confidence with them... mainly because I seemed to miss quite a few fish. The reason for this is has to do with the hook set. Do you guys set the hook right away after feeling the bite, or maybe give em slack for a second to let em eat it then set? When they would really nail it and I could tell they inhaled it good I would set immediately and usually hook up... but it was when they didn't really crush it... I wasn’t sure whether to set or maybe give it to em for a sec. Any thoughts here?
river rat316
NOrthStar baits, hand tied, all hand made, 3d eyes also. Brovarney and Lethal weapon also make good swim jigs
gunning
I like the brovarny's the best. I was looking at their jigs last year and they didn't really have the sunfish pattern I wanted so I called them up described what I wanted to Dan and he tied up two for me to chose from. I wanted the orange and yellows to be on the bottom with a few strands of blue mixed in the middle and green pumpkin/ watermelon on the top, It looks great. Yank'em makes good jigs also they have a similar sunfish pattern I have a few of them also. To the comment about setting the hook, I usually just set the hook as soon as I feel the fish I miss a few fish here and there but I usually have a good hook up ratio. Some of the strikes you might be missing could be panfish hitting the jig.
gunning
Oh yea I don't want to bash booyah but thier swim jig just flat out blows, really bad design IMO.

delmuts
So some of you are big on using a grub type trailer. I've mostly used a twin tail, but am i missing something?

Reid G
So some of you are big on using a grub type trailer. I've mostly used a twin tail, but am i missing something? I go single grub with the lighter color jigs. When I'm going after a baitfish look, bluegill, perch, shad, etc.
Ralph Wiggum
What kind of gubs do you guys use? I have been happy with Zoom Fat Alberts, but am always open to something new.
