when the panfish started to come up shallow i was able to finally catch my own fish

I really enjoyed looking through those pictures as well. Nothing like seeing a kid light up holding a fish. Heck there's nothing like seeing anyone from 1 to 101 light up holding a fish! smile Very nice crappie and a nice walleye too. Definately have a nice lake to get out on!

Some of my most enjoyable times are fishing with my daughter. She's 12 now and has gone with me on 3 canada fly ins and other mn open water trips but you know what? she likes ice fishing best! We do a yearly pre Christmas fish on LOTW, have done Devils lake, Mille lacs of course and she just gets a kick out of it. The first time I took her ice fishing when she was younger she stepped in the whole and got all wet and I thought at the time what am I doing bringing her? but now I look back (she remembers to) and think, these are the things that make a trip memorable. I have taken many fishing/hunting trips so far in my life and EVERY single one has some event that stands out. Not all are fishing hunting related either. Like the time my brother........... you get the point.

he moral of the story is take your kids with you when you can. The important word here is when you can. Sometimes it is just not in the cards and that's fine but when it does work take them along. You will not regret it in the long run.
