Outfitter17
I think most of us agree on this board that it should be the VIKINGS hoisting the Trophy. We should have beaten the Aint's and then we would have taken care of the Colts. Next year will be our year - only if Farve comes back. Lee Lane
I cant argue there. I was just saying that to my brother....wish the colts wld have won. My issue with new orleans besides the bad calls they beats us by are this....they act like the whole community there is just great and how much they overcame the issues with the hurricane like they are class act citizens! Wommen were getting raped, children kidnapped, and people were getting killed all over that city...including in the superdome! Yet they act like and the media portrays them as almost heros. They do not fool me. I have no choice but to believe the big win was a marketing scam to boost the econemy in the city.

SkunkedAgain
Get over it. The Saints were the best team in the NFC this season, even when they shut it down for the last few weeks of the regular season. Then they rolled through the playoffs and beat a dynamite Colts team with a red-hot Peyton Manning. You think that should have been the Vikings? Come on. Thirty other teams can say that right now and it's just as weak of an argument. Beat the teams you need to and win the championship. Enough said. BlueLundFishrman
The Vikings piddled it down their legs. Vikings should just take the old 7up motto when it comes to winnning the big game: "Never had it, never will"

SkunkedAgain
After a loss, any team can insist that they choked, while the other team typically insists that they won outright. You can watch most games, point to bad plays, and say that a team choked but the reality is that nobody plays a perfect game. Teams get beat by a combination of not correctly executing plays and the other team executing theirs better. The Saints made the plays when it counted. It was a great game by both them and the Vikings. I'm not even a Saints fan, but I'm also not a delusional Vikings fan thinking that they somehow got screwed by the football gods or themselves (choked).Say it with me: "THE VIKINGS GOT BEAT BY A BETTER TEAM."Repeat that last sentence over and over if it hasn't sunk in yet. Now go back to your van and keep telling yourself that Favre could throw that football over that mountain
bottom-bouncer
Reading these threads makes me laugh! I am a queens fan always have been always will be. With that said they may have been better than the saints mite not have been who really knows. But the saints were more consistant they won the games that they had to and now they have the trophy. I dont understand all the hate towards them bad calls, bad plays. None of this really matters at the end of the day look up at the scoreboard it is the only thing that means anything.... I will add that the media and there poor city(N.O) is old the city can now rebuild because of the super bowl win(REALLY) the only thing that can help this city is the people themselves and it doesnt seem that they are determined to make this happen! james_walleye
I'm still laughing Bear. Tell me how the Vikings were better...convince me that I'm kidding myself... The vikings held out their hands, silver platter between them, and said here you go New Orleans. They pushed the saints up and down the field. The vikings lost that game, the saints didnt win it. Your out in left field if your going to say it was anything else.
BlueLundFishrman
If that's what you need to tell yourself so you can sleep at night. The Vikings got beat. In reality it doesn't matter how. They play the games for a reason. The Vikings couldn't seal the deal. PurpleKoolaidLand, the Vikings were undefeated this year; the losses to Pittsburgh, Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, and New Orleans do not exist.Vikings fans, it's time to get over this year, and start dreaming up excuses for next season. james_walleye
How about you re-read what i wrote and tell me what is wrong with what i said??..... and maybe you should stop and think for a minute before you type something on this message board. I would sleep alot easier knowing the vikings got beat 31-28 in OT, turned the ball over zero times, and the saints outgained the vikings. You really think i "sleep better" knowing the vikings gave the ball up 5 times, outgained the saints 2:1, and threw away a golden opportunity to play in the superbowl? Those chances don't come around very often and the vikings flushed this chance down the toilet. As a diehard purple fan it doesnt sit well. I'm not sitting here saying the officials costed the vikings the game, im sitting here saying the vikings crapped the bed. That is reality. I dont list excuses. You've directed your comments in the wrong direction.

greebs
I'd guess that this same topic has been mentioned today in Indy, San Diego, Baltimore and Dallas just to name a few. As is always the case with a football "tournament" like the nfl playoffs, the best team doesn't always win. In fact this can be argued nearly every year. Heck if the Vikes would have somehow won it all, they'd be arguing in Arizona and Carolina that they were the better team using the same basis. I don't understand that some Viking fans seem to think it's an automatic that they would have beaten the colts last night despite it being not at the dome and on grass where we know the vikings did not play their best ball this year. They play the regular season to weed out the weaker teams then it's a matter of staying healthy and having a few breaks go your way, and taking advantage of those breaks. This was the Saints year. Nobody can argue that they weren't a team that took advantage of nearly every break that was given to them and guess that makes them the best this year. MNice
Sorry, but with 5 turnovers, the vikings did not deserve to win that game at all. Sure they marched up & down the field, but they didn't get the job done.. period!! They didn't play better, they weren't the better team, they fumbled away their opportunity... get over itps, I am a vikes fan...
Canon Guy
The Vikings did nothing at the end of the year to deserve a championship. They were terrible the last quarter of the season, looked very good for 1 playoff game then stunk it up with 5 turnovers in the big game. Not a chamionship caliber team. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted February 16, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted February 16, 2010 Should have been the Vikings Hoisting the Trophy Dirty Play by the Saints and poor officiating all documented and publicly admitted by the NFL themselves.
