james_walleye
I do believe most teams do this, i think its called the NFL? Past playoff performances is your basis for reality? I guess we better hope that the colts and chargers don't meet in the AFC title game. The colts can't beat the chargers in the playoffs and the chargers can't finish a playoff run. And how did Dallas win the NFC east when they choke in December?

james_walleye
The worn out bit? You neglecting the point of the post. You know exactly the point of the post but decide to jump in and continue your bit. Either that or its just over your head.
LMITOUT
I'm the one neglecting the point of the post? Really? Who's the one who started throwing out Colts, Chargers, and Dallas in an attempt to deflect the scrutiny of the Vikings which, by the way, is the POINT OF THE POST! Yes, pointing fingers is a worn out bit. All we get from you in every thread is a bunch of "yeah but's" when the Vikings are the team being discussed. Yeah but...look at the Chargers..... Yeah but...Dallas stinks in December.... Yeah but....what about the Packers..... And that's why not knowing what team I follow bothers you to the core.....because you can't start throwing out "yeah but.. (my team here) sucks" as the first line of defense of your precious little Viking squad. At least make a compelling argument FOR your club, instead of pointing fingers at other teams and saying "well they do it too!". It reminds me of two little kids who got caught doing something wrong but only one gets yelled at so he says "yeah but, he's doing it too!". He's not upset about getting caught which leads to an understanding that there is a problem, but rather about getting reprimanded when someone else didn't. swings down, swings up..... james_walleye
Pretty sure 12-4 and 1 game out of the #1 seed speaks for itself as to why the vikings have a shot. I can also name many reasons why they probably won't make it. And if they don't make if im pretty sure past history won't be the reason why. You want to make cases for why teams won't make the superbowl? Losing to the falcons in 1998 is pretty low on the list. And if you can't figure it out i'll spell it out for you. Its as lame as saying the chargers won't make it because they can't finish a playoff run. Its as lame as saying if the colts and chargers play they colts are in trouble because the colts have had a hard time against the chargers in the playoffs in the past. And its as lame as saying the Cowboys going into December will miss the playoffs because they have choked the last 2 decembers. Its as lame as saying the saints don't have a chance because they are the "aints". That is the point of my post. You either played your bit and neglected it or it just went zoom right over the top. Again your bit it old. Its old, worn out, and its transparent. I used to think you were just a 180 from the biggest viking homer out there. Its become plain obvious its a bit. And for the record i could care less that you are to big a coward to name your team. It goes right along with your bit and the fact that you hide behind that avatar. harvey lee
The Vikes will lose the SB even if they get there. If they do, that must mean pigs can fly.

we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 6, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 6, 2010 The Vikes still choke and puke every so often against a team they should blow away. LOL, every fan of every team can say that one and be correct. Way to go out on a limb there Tom As for the rest of you namby pamby's, I always expect the Vikes to Win their next game. Ohhh and LMIT is definitely a Packer fan. Just check his pre-season posting patterns out. You will easily see it.

swamptiger
Whatever happens, I'd just like to see the Vikes play the Packers and beat em just one more time....We could rub it into the cheeseheads for years to come...
Jim Uran
I think I may switch to being a Packer fan. At least they can win the big one. Add this to the UGLY!!!
SkitterPopper
I think the term here is "Bandwagon Fan". When the team does good he is happy and likes the team. When they do not live up to his expectations they are dirt. All that hopping on and off the wagon has to be hard on a old guys body. I am a fan through the good, bad, and ugly. But that is just me. harvey lee
SkitterNowhere did I state I don't cheer for the Vikes or not watch them. I just refuse to put my heart into the Vikes as it seems its always a huge let down in the end.I have always been on the bandwagon but I just don't wear my seatbelt on anymore. They are not dirt, they simply cannot win the big one. Scott K
During the 98 season, I jumped on the band wagon big time, even bought season tickets, I was left heart broken. I kept my tickets for a few years, until after the 01 season let down. After the 41-0 blowout because the Giants cheated and were listning to our play calls , I have been a fan, but I will never go back to being the fan I was then. I am still a huge fan, but just one without high hopes!
Cooter
You can tell the scars run deep on Tom, its like getting stood up at the alter a couple times - pretty soon you ain't going there anymore. Look what those stupid, stinky Queens did to the poor guy.
Big Dave2
Why can't anyone just be a fan of a team for the sake of being a fan? No team is going to win every year and so what if they don't? What does it really matter? Is it an ego thing?I have been a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide ever since I was a little boy growing up in Alabama. The Tide claim more national titles than any other college football program. 12 national titles in over 100 years! Theres a lot of losing seasons in 100 years time.I've lived in MN for 30 years and have been a Vikes fan for pretty much all those years. I've seen ups and downs, but I know I've seen more winning seasons than losing seasons.I say enjoy it for what it is.
SkitterPopper
Quote: I have always been on the bandwagon but I just don't wear my seatbelt on anymore. Fair enough... To me every week is a new week. They might have stunk it up the week before but it is onward and upward. If you sit and dwell on the past how are you going to succeed in the future? I guess I never think about the 0-4 SB record. For one, I was in diapers when that happened and I do not have a lot of recollection on that period. For two, there is not a single player, coach, or groundskeeper that is still around from that era. How can you say that the team will never win because they did not win a game in the 70's. I think Dtro has a very good point. Look at the Detroit Lions and their record. Does this mean they will never be a contender again becuase a couple horrendous seasons the past two years. They might not have a winning season again...ever... I highly doubt it. The NFL teams are up and down from year to year and I am personally happy to see the Vikings up more than down like other teams. I think any one is beatable in this years playoffs. We will wait and see. I hope you are wrong but you might be right.SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duffman
I never smile if I can help it. Showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life. LOL, I never knew you had a funny bone LMITOUT. Did you steal it back from your dog after a swift kick?? we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 6, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 6, 2010 No, he stole it from his pet Chimp when it was begging him for it's life And Tom's Vikings statements are very typical of a bandwagon fan. Of course he doesn't want the seatbelt because he's always on the edge of the bandwagon at the ready and may need to jump off at a moments notice.
