My Blue Moon

Here's what it looked like from our cabin in Hackensack.

We saw it setting over a beautiful panorama of a point of land and white pines when we were walking into the BWCAW (Trout Lake) this morning before sunrise. Would have been a gorgeous photo to capture, much like yours, except it was -10, the winds were 15 mph in our faces, I didn't bring a tripod and the camera was buried under gear strapped to the tow sled.

We were after lake trout, after all.

Why isn't the blue moon really blue?

Thanks - it was cold, but not as cold as it will be tonight up there. The prediction is like -30...we're back in the cities!

I knew I needed to hurry when I saw it coming up over the trees - and that little wisp of clouds, etc. By the time I got the camera out and tripod on the deck this was were things were! I blew a couple of shots because I couldn't find my cable release

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! That little cabin on the shore is a boathouse. I don't think it's used at all, but I have many, many pictures of it in different seasons, weather, light, etc - sure hope they don't ever get rid of it!!!
