Minnesota + Professional Sports = Heartbrake/Wallet Drain

If it weren't for the fishing/hunting/family, I would leave this state in a heart beat.

You would leave a state over professional sports?

Where would you go to get away from the heartbreak? The Dakotas or Iowa maybe. Just don't fall in love with any of the college teams!

I don't know if they played worse tonight or against the Cardinals...guess it doesn't matter much either way. Philly is licking their chops right now as they smell blood.

I sure hope McKinney was hurt tonight because he got his lunch handed to him. It screwed up our offense all night long. I said it on a different thread and I'll stick by this statement...Winfield should be playing SS and not corner anymore. He's one of the best players in the NFL...just not at corner.

Congratulations to the Vikes for REPEATING as Divisional Champs...now let's secure that #2 seed and heal some of those injuries before our HOME play-off game.

The stadium may be horrible but if this site is an accurate sampling of all Viking fans, I would say that the fans are the most terrible thing about them. winkgrin

Winfield was absolutely terrible tonight. Peppers destroyed everyone we put in front of him. Our defense lost the streak of 37 games without a 100 yard rusher. Both sides of the ball was embarrassing. On the bright side you are right bigdave we can still finish 13-3 and get a bye in the playoffs. In the mean time Childress better figure this out quick.

  • we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators

Loadholt faired ok for a rookie against Peppers in the 1st half. He got beat but he should have had a little help as a rook. Our run O-line needs some run blockers. I've thought that all season. Peterson has helped them look good until lately.

McKinnie had a horrible time against Peppers in the 2nd half when he moved over. If he doesn't pick-it up the Vikes are downgraded a notch.

The Vikes seemed flat from the get-go. They have a good team and need to learn how to turn it on when on the road.

They need to get out and have fun on the road, same as at home. If they have that kind of attitude with a high energy level-ON THE ROAD they will be un-beatable.

I sure hope we see it next week. smile

I agree with merkman. They do this every year. Maybe make it to the playoffs if lucky enough. Then of course lose quickly. But will never play to the caliber of the Colts. Just my two cents worth. If the colts can beat the Chargers in the playoffs they will win the superbowl hands down...

Yep, thats the Vikes, they will get you to cheer like heck for them and then in the end, they will fall apart.

No SB win for MN this season, this team is not good enough for that.

I'm not jumping off the bandwagon as I will watch all the games also also watch the Vikes not win it all.

I just won't set myself up for another non SB season.

Yes, the Vikes have had a great season so far but the end is near.

Yes I know, oh, we 11-3. Just looking at the final results this season without my purple gogles on.

10 pages of comments about a silly game? It's a shame grown men can get all bent out of shape and so depressed about a meaningless game. I remember when I was a young lad how upset I would get when the Vikes lost. I would be grumpy all week because of it. What a waste of energy and thought... I will no longer let the results of a silly game dictate any part of my life or mood. It's kind of like overcoming an addiction. What a relief it has been!

Reading through this thread I can't believe people actually would choose were they raise their family based on that states sports teams! Do you actually think these millionaire players give a ****?? They don’t. I cant believe we have degraded so far as a society that we, the working taxpayers, are paying for this ridiculous circus. Not too long ago pro players made less $ than the average working Joe. It needs to return to that before I drop a dime on anything to do with pro-sports. Hopefully people can step back and realize just how ridiculous this has become.

I agree they make way too much money, but try telling that to guys like EJ Henderson who almost had his leg tore off his body a couple weeks ago......the average working joe doesn't have to worry about their leg (or neck) being snapped in half like a toothpick every week.

tell that to the worker who lost a hand at $7 an hour, their a bunch of mid 20 year olds getting paid big bucks by who ever they can find to pay it no loyalty even if we do win the superbowl 1/4 of the team will be gone because they can get more money elsewhere so they expect us to be loyal blah blah blah I enjoy watching them and last night they had a bad night but today who cares means as much to me as who won survivor or idol wasn't me so I got to go back to work if your life revolves that tightly around a game get a real hobby

Coming from 2 guys who are on a sports forum on the computer. laugh There are a million different web sites out there but here you sit (on a sports forum) crying about how meaningless sports is and anyone who gives a rats a$$ about it needs to get a life. If it is that meaningless then stop watching the games, stop going on a sports forum with a thread that says Panthers v. Vikings. Get a real hobby while the rest of us sit and talk about sports. crazycrazycrazy

Go Vikes! smile

O-line was weak IMO. Pepper crushed Favray too many times last night. Our D fell apart mid game.

First seed or second, once this years team gets in the playoffs, I feel it will come together.

I had a feeling last nights game was going to be a tough one. I figured we would win. Maybe cocky got the best of us (Vikes).

I ain't jumping ship yet. wink
