Boots

I have been running (OK lugging) in IceMans for the past decade. They are warm, but heavy!! I just got some boots from the Nebraska based store located in Rogers that are so light, 2000 grams Thinsulate and warm as can be. They are called the Inferno I think. I just saw them on sale for just over a C-note. I got mine for $120.

Lacrosse icemans or ice kings.

X2. Bought a pair of the ice bowls from Lacrosse about 10 years ago and they have kept my feet warm ever since. Got them on clearance at GM for about $85. They are heavy so they take some getting used to.

A couple years ago answered an add on HSO-Classifieds and scored a like new pair of Lacrosse Ice Kings for a meer $25. Figuring my pair would last a lifetime sold them to my Dad who was very happy to see his pair was made in the USA.

My brother wears tennis shoes fishing and all the time he's asking if he can slip into my boats to warm up a little bit.

Sports Guide has a 2000 gram pair for $80. I bought a 1600 gram pair from them a few years ago and was satisfied. They are not Gortex but are waterproof. I don't like to be weighted down with the heavy boots that is why I got more toward hunting boot versus pac. Mickey mouses are warm and durable otherwise.

4 years ago I bought a pair from Cabellas called the Trans Alaska Pac III. They were designed by Cabellas and Jeff King, 4 time Iditorad Champ. They have been great. I've always had a problem with cold feet, no more. I've used them in the tree stand as well. Not the cheapest, but warm feet are worth the price. I'd buy another pair. smile

If you ever make your way up to Alaska, hit up an Army Navy store and buy yourself some Bunny Boots. They run about $100-$125 but it will be the best boot investment you've ever made. If you take good care of them and don't get the insulation wet, they can last up to 30 years is what I've been told.. I've only had mine for a year in Alaska and my feet have yet to get cold.
