season wrap up.

I know it wasnt the greatest season for ducks this year and it started opening week end. but I for one had a great season with the hunting intro to my two sons well ones been hunting for a couple of years and the other this was his first and he had a blast along with the other son yea sure our best hunt was in NoDak but its duck season and time that was spent in the duck swamp is memorys that will last a life time and new learning experiences each time on the water.

made some new friends this year and hopefully will spend time next year on the duck swamp with them.

I will be hunting ducks until I cant hold a gun up so it doesnt matter if theres ducks or not its more of a tradition to me and what better to carry it on than to get my boys involed in it.

lets hear some good stuff guys and lets keep civil.

until next season Quack,quack

I really can't think of very much good to say about the duck season this year. If it weren't for the geese, our waterfowl hunting would suck. And this year, if brown is the new black, Saskachewan is the new Nodak.

Overall I had a good season. I shot the majority of my birds in ND. I only had one good duck shoot in MN this year and that was the 2nd weekend of the season. It was fun hunting with some new guys and checking out some new spots. Hopefully next year I will have a truck and a blind for my fishing boat. I am excited to sleep in on the weekends now and focus on ice fishing instead.

Always love duck season ducks or no ducks, I had a blast with my buddy and his dad(who had not been duckin in a while) the second weekend, got 8 birds 3ringies,2gwTeal,2woodies and a mallard. we easily should have had 2 limits or better. I was on the birds a little bit that day and they kept sayin i was pushin em down so they couldnt shoot.had some good laughs with some good people and found some dam good huntin partners. Great season for me its not about how many but how fun and the could'ves and should'ves.. You'll know better next year

2nd year for me and 1'st for my lab. Not great in terms of ducks bagged, but the last few trips i started to get comfortable with keeping both eyes opened and downed 1 without an assist. My lab is comfortable with the guns now and will only get better..

I am going set a week aside for ND next year.

I actually had the best year in recent memory. There were definately some slow days. But some really good days as well. Any day spent over decoys with family or a buddy is great whether you hammer the ducks or not. My highlight for the year was shooting two pintail drakes four days apart. I have never shot one of those in over 20 years of waterfowling. Good luck to all heading out tomorrow. My last day was today. Never fired a shot, but it was a beautiful sunrise.

the season isnt over just yet, we have a couple days to shoot ducks and the late season honkers. as I type we have 79 ducks and 48 honks. A few bad days but your going to have that. A couple really killer hunts. banded redhead and a goose. several mixed bag days. hunted a couple different area's with some luck.

I really wished the season was a week longer. here is one of the last days of last year.

My MN duck hunting was the worst I have experienced in 28 years of hunting. On a positive note, I got to experience Swan Lake for the first time with a friend with a mud motor. Might have to save my pennies and invest in a mud boat! That lake is huge and I could see the potential for great hunts. I also enjoyed meeting some new people from this site while in a duck blind.

Went to North Dakota twice and it was awesome hunting both times. Shooting greenheads at 15 yards kind of spoils a guy. My duck season is over, but with a little help from the weatherman I still have some good goose hunts coming in December.

All and all it was an OK season. Shot some birds and got to watch the dog do some darn good retrieves. Wasn't the best year by any means but still maneged to scratch a few limits. Got to spend some time in the new boat with some good friends. Now its time for late season goose and the my favorite SPRING SNOW GOOSE cant wait.

I envy everyone that got birds this year. I made seven trips out to the water or fields. Whiffed on two groups of mallards and passed on a group of mergies. That's it. Hunted alone most of the time so can't even say I shared the hunt with anybody. Dog was pretty depressed by the last trip out. Now I'll have to wait another year before I can hopefully get a taste of some delicious bacon wrapped duckies...

The season started slow for us. Got sick of getting skunked so much so we really scouted hard this year. I was fortunate enough to get out a lot this year and a few times with my father. His eyesight isn't what it used to be, but he was able to down a few ducks with the trusty A5. Got skunked a few times, also was fortunate to share a lights out metro diver hunt with my dad and some great diver hunts up north of GR with some friends.

Next year I'm heading back to ND for at least a long weekend and looking forward to more fall sunrises in MN.

With all the deer hunters hunting river bottoms and near the local lakes etc. there report was never saw a duck, some geese around but 0 ducks and I believe them. It's unfortunate and likely will be about the same next year. Magically they won't appear, the duck has spoken and it's not MN that they want. I hunt a river and creek and etc. during deer and the last 10 years I have rarely seen a flock.

I ended up with 45 ducks on the year and 8 or 9 geese so far. It wasn't the best season, but it was decet at times. I did manage a nice drake red head that is going on the wall and a sweet looking woodie for the wall too. I put my cousin on his first bull can as well. Too bad work got in the way of the big push of mallards last week...

I sure hunted more this year than ever before(not working), so in that way it was enjoyable. Had friends come down to my area, central wisconsin, to hunt with me, traveled to Lake Michigan for some hunts, and northern minnesota. So it was a busy season. As far as the success rates, by far the worst season I've had, even with improved shooting. Did manage a few new species as well.

Swan treated well as always this year. not the amount of ducks this year as last. no geese but my fair share of limits only by myslef. had a flock of 21 red heads land in my decoys for the first time ever. i already had my 2 so i just watched. class got in the way too many times and had my share of the no duck days. I'm already waiting for next year to come.

Pretty poor this year. Had some good hunts, opener was one of the worst ever, but the next week/weekend provided some ducks on the move as the early migrants were on the move. Then it was dead until opener of deer. We sweated our a$$ off in the 70degree weather but that provided the best mallard shoot of the year as it does every year. But not nearly as many as previous years. The unseasonably warm weather throughout November didn't help us the rest of the season. Worst November for ducks I can remember... But still enjoyed the mornings I got out, just wish the weather and the ducks would have cooperated a bit more

Well it does not sound like hunting period is very good anywhere. I have a buddy that is bull elk hunting right now south of the grand canyon. has been there for almost a week and not seen anything. I let him use my spot messenger locator and have been tracking him. Just looked, he is 38 miles from camp on some of the nastiest roads in the state. Only two days left so hopefully he will get his bull. Talking with others, it is the oddest hunting year many have seen.
