HSO Deer Photo's

Recommended Posts

Got him at 0730 today. At shooting light had two fawns and a doe getting chased by a smaller 8. He was grunting the whole way. He even snort wheezed. My brother has saw two bucks chasing does but was unable to tell what they were. He also saw a fork. They are running hard today.

I shot this buck in North Dakota on November 4th... yes, full velvet on November 4th! It is what some people refer to as a "Cactus Buck." It had both male and female genetalia. It had no testicles and it had a milk sack. The condition has to do with testosterone levels. Enjoy!full-11135-13740-buck2011compressed.jpg

Thanks for the report, I suspected it might be good today after all that wind. I normally take all week off but burned too much vacation bow season. Back in the woods on Thurs.

Anylake, as soon as I started to read this my first thought was antlered Doe. My buddy who is a Taxidermist has a 10 point Doe still in velvet on his wall. I'm sure it was a mind blow when you went to gut it and things were not in the right places! laugh

leech- It green scored 159 5/8ths yes the main beams are unreal! At the base they are 6 inches around. Pictures don't even do it justice, until you see it in person. The deer wieght was 217 field dressed. Hospefully My taxidermist gets it done by march to bring it to the deer classic!

Skies, that is just an incredible deer! Are you aware that a local man has a few years of matched sets of sheds from it. I believe that deer to be at least 7 1/2 years old and if im not mistaken he has gone downhill! He is a rare "past his prime" buck! Most hunters will never lay eyes on a deer of that age class! Congrats to you! Reguardless of score, he is truly a trophy animal!

BTW... Congats to everyone, men AND women, on a lot of great deer!

Davids first buck and second deer. Last deer was 11 or 12 years ago. He has a tendency to get a little excited when deer come in. Or has his young mind in a phone. Hit the deer on first shoot but sense he seems to miss every year he took four more shoots. Deer went less then 20 yard. Congratulations David. [img:center]http://IMAG0144.jpg

2011 North Dakota rifle buck. Not many deer out there this year. I put alot of miles on my feet. My usual honey holes were dry too. This was the first mature buck I saw all rifle season. There is a standing corn field about a mile away from where I hunt. Which is about the only field still standing. I'm hoping the buck I was after with my bow is in there, I can't wait to get back out with my bow!!!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
