Ripley Pic's

I haven't seen that one yet. It might be in Outdoor News Thursday though. Here's a few others to admire in the meantime...

This was off my buddy's cam. Terrible pic but it was a 208# heavy framed 8 pt.

This was the "parachute" buck. A 179# toad that scored 147. I saw 2 of those flares/chutes while in the woods. Pretty cool that he killed a buck that got tangled up in one.

I can't get over the snow on the ground in some of those pictures. I hunted about in the middle of Ripley and there was only a dusting in the low areas.

It goes to show how big Ripley is.

I've got some pictures that someone sent me of the heaviest buck taken, but I don't know how to post them. I can email them to someone if they want to post them.

That 2nd deer is huge. Granted I'm not a hunter, but it looks old and just big. I would like to see that 256 or whatever that biggun was. Just wondering, is there a wolf pack in Ripley?

Yes there is. In fact there are two different packs. One that lives in the northern part of the base and the other stays more on the southern end but they will cross territories/ripley borders occasionally and often times the consequenses are pretty severe for the wolves frown

Bow only for the Ripley hunts. That place is a mega buck sanctuary!

Could you imagine if all of Minnesota was bow only for 4 days of the year! We would make Iowa, Kansas, look like a drop in the bucket in the monster buck world!

Ripley says it all!

Bow only for us, but the disabled vets hunt are able to use shotgun, or bow. I am not sure about the youth hunt.

The two main public hunts are bow only. The veterans deer hunt is shotgun and at the same time on the north end of Ripley there is a hunt for the veterans of the iraqi freedom and Afghanistan and they use bows/crossbows. The youth hunt uses bows only as well.
