It better clean my fish too for $75 bones! I have a soft one that i bought at unclaimed frieght in milaca for $13 I think it is a croxton??? It rocks, I am going to add some tubes for more protection, but I love it.

The $75 is well worth it to me. Especially with the price of some of the ice rods we use these days. In my opinion there is no better rod case out there for protecting rods on them long trips towing your gear behind a wheeler or sled.

Yes its big and bulky but it will protect your valuable rods like no other case I have used.

I can get 4 rods in one. 3 bigger laker rods.

I also like my Stone Legacy Revolution bags. 4 rod storage and room for tackle.

The poster asked for the best rod case out there. That is why I suggested the Otter case. No, its not cheap but I can put my expensive rods in it, bounce across the lake pulling my portable and if something falls hard inside the portable, no worris about my rods.

Take a look at the rod case and you my be impressed. I have not seen a safer rod case on the market today. I have others but my very good rods get to ly in the Otter.

Gander has a sharp looking break down shotgun case that will pull double duty as a custom use ice rod case. It is an airplane rated impact resistant metal framed case, and built to take abuse.

Interiour dimensions: 31-1/4x12-3/4x1-5/8

Exterior dimensions: 31-7/8x13-3/8x4-5/8

(In the diagonal you can fit up to a 32" rod in and stack shorter rods or rod combo's parallel to it, also progressively in the diagonal.)

Egg crate lines and fully padded it has ample room to store at least 6 combo's with reels attached. Four metal clasps secure the case, very sturdy and sharp looking unit. They now run $79....at one time they were $99.

75 dollars is not over priced. I made my own hard sided rod cases about 6 years ago because there were none to buy. By the time you buy the hinges, snaps, and the foam they were not cheap. But I have not broke a rod yet in them. Rick

I have the otter case, and I would rate it as the best I have seen to date. At a price of $75, if the four rods you put in it don't add up to $75 then I would say it is not worth the money. On the other hand some guys may have $300 for the four rods stored in it not including the price of the reels. In that case I would like to have as much protection as I could for them. It does take up some room, but it is light and strong.

It's pretty hard to beat a hard case for protection. Another option might be the Lakewood ice pole caddie, it's a 36" long soft-sided hard case. I've carried 8 poles in it a few times. I have an older model that doesn't have the foam liner and use golf bag tubes to keep rods separate. I'd guess you couldn't get 8 in the new foam lined one unless you modified it.

Picked up another YAD rod today on the big E site. Now im deffinatly gonna want a case for my rods. All of these are great suggestions and im gonna have to find something quick. I personally like the idea of a soft case with pvc inserts for the tips.
